Ouch! Bench press mis-hap

I've seen that before.
bad spotters...

the guy was ok though, if i remember correctly. very bruised though.
 
I watched a guy in the army post gym I was in, using a thumbless grip with 245 on the bar drop it on his chest from full extention and it bounced off his chest onto his neck. THAT was pretty fuked up!:heks:
 
It only took me having watched one benching mishap clip for me to stick to the full grip presses. A lot of paople will swear that you have more power with the thumless grip but I think it's BS.

the red ones are 100lb plates i believe.
It looked like there were 2 red plates per side, and a grey (45) and maybe a smaller plate too.

i THINK there were 2 red plates per side, not one. I couldn't see it very well, but if thats the case, it would have been 555.

If that's the case those two spotters were way too small to handle that.

Doesn't look like enough bend in the bar for a 500+ lift, though.
 
yeah, i just noticed how small the spotters are, thats rediculous, even if it was 355.
it must be, although it does look like there's more than one red plate on there.
 
Actually the red plates just look like 45's, not thick enough for 100's. If that's the case I count 4 45's on each side and what looks like a ten.

425 total? Whatever the lift, the spotters were too small and not qualified.

6 x 25kg (red plates)

2 x 20kg (blue)

2 x 10kg

2 x 5kg
