The claims they are making is that by adding the potassium onto the r-ALA, it is more stable in extreme conditions.. while maybe that's great if you live in the middle of the Sahara, it's not really applicable to us living in any type of modern facility (read: a house). Another reason they add the K to it is because it changes the chemical structure, and now there is no way to rest how pure the r-ALA is since it's no longer r-ALA.. by doing this, they ensure that no one will be able to disprove that it is "pure" r-ALA, even though it is most likely that they buy sub-grade batches and re-sell it as 'pure.'
Another notable piece of information is that there is currently no evidence that the body will recognize K-R-ALA as r-ALA, as studies have not tested the particular compound with the added potassium.
A problem with their K-R-ALA is that it's no longer natural r-ALA.. and if the point of using r-ALA over s-ALA is by keeping it natural, they have just defeated the purpose.
As most people on this board will attest to, the Glucorell r-ALA from Anafit is the best r-ALA supplement you can get. And while it's kept natural, by not adding the potassium, we ensure that it stays fresh by upgrading, for free, to 2nd day AIR shipping so that it isn't riding around in a hot truck for 5 days.
You can get some from the banner in my sig.
Edit: here's a thread you might want to read through regarding Glucorell-R...
