The last game he coached at Duke before moving to Floridia, he ran the score up to 45 to 3 against a young North Carolina team. Then he sends in the field goal team to kick with two seconds left! 48-3 the final. Then they went out and took a team photo in front of the scoreboard.

I am a vol fan and I hate to see him leave. He is the best coach in college football. Maybe ever. This is a serious blow to college f-ball. He may be a smart-ass but you have to respect a man in his position who is not afraid to speak his mind.

THIS IS DEFINATELY A SAD DAY IN GATOR COUNTRY. I MOVED TO GAINESVILLE IN 1990, THE YR SPURRIER TOOK OVER THE GATOR TEAM. SPURRIER HAS BEEN A "SO CALLED GOD" IN GAINESVILLE FOR THE PAST 12 YRS. HE BROUGHT THE FLORIDA GATOR FOOTBALL TEAM SO MUCH SUCCESS IN THE YRS HE HAS BEEN HERE. ITS REMARKABLE ACTUALLY HOW SUCCESSFUL HE HAD BECOME HERE. 121 WINS IN 12 SEASONS HERE IS MORE THAN ANY DIVISION 1-A COACH ANYWHERE IN THE HISTORY OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL WITHIN THEIR FIRST 12 SEASONS. HE'S AN OFFENSIVE GENIUS. MANY PEOPLE DON'T LIKE HIM FOR HIS SO CALLED WHINING AND "VISOR THROWING SHENANNIGAN'S," BUT HATE HIM OR NOT, HE IS AN OUTSTANDING COACH. TODAY IS REALLY UPSETTING NEWS FOR MOST GATOR FANS BECAUSE ITS BASICALLY STARTING OVER AGAIN. WE KNEW WHAT WE HAD WITH SPURRIER, BEING IN CONTENTION ABOUT EVERY YR FOR A NATL TITLE. THE CRAZY THING NOW IS, I HAVE JUST MOVED TO TAMPA, FL AND FUNNY THING IS IT SERIOUSLY LOOKS AS THOUGH SPURRIER WILL FOLLOW US AND COACH THE TAMPA BAY BUCS. BIG RUMOR HERE IN TAMPA IS NOW WITH GREEN OUT OF MINNESOTA, TONY DUNGY WILL COACH THE VIKINGS NEXT SEASON AND SPURRIER WILL COME TO TAMPA BAY. COULD BE VERY INTERESTING!!!!!

Spurrier is a fool. An increase in pay with the NFL won't justify the headaches he will encounter. Look at guys like Joe Paterno, Tom Osborne, Bo Schembeckler, Bear Bryant, etc who send their entire careers on the college level. These guys, like Spurrier were gods, and their jobs were much more rewarding and easier than anything on the Pro level. Spurrier should just have stayed put and enjoyed life.

I hate when you crybabies complain about getting the score run up on you. If you don't like to be beat so bad, learn to play the fucking game. Coach Spurrier can't help your team be better, he is only playing your teams for practice anyway.
