About those devices? Couldn't you just cut small hole in the bottom or top of box and look inside for some sort of transmitter, because that would avoid breaking any seal or physically opening box.

I would take it to a mall or walmart parking lot inspect package for any possible tampering, open it, take out product and inspect it (or transfer it to another container if possible) then leave all packaging behind in parking lot...like a shopping cart. remove your address of course.

In any case, whether or not the devices are expensive, I'm gonna obliterate the tags and toss the box into the Erie Canal. The gear too if i need to (i'll be pissed but....). Let the pigs fish it out or follow it to Albany.Fuck em.
