Ok XBOX or Playstation 2 What should I get. For 300$ want the best

one. Here is what I have heard so far. Playstation2 is not as powerful but has the DVD player right out of the box and may have a better game selection.
XBOX is more powerful and faster but does not have the DVD player. You can buy the add on kit for 30$ which is not too bad. Game varity my not be good as PS2.
Am I off base. Just want something to play shoot'em up games like Max Pain mabey 30minutes a day max. None of the roll playing games.
Anybody got some good input. For 300$ the thing better be BAD!

I bought my b/f a playstation2 for x mas.
He wanted it because he has a ps 1 and the ps2 will play both ps1 and ps2 games..the x box is new and has a limited # of games...
plus, he has a ps1 and he can play those games on there.

A lot of people say PS2 because it plays PS1 games.

But if you get GameCube, do you still really wanna play SNES games?

X has more potential IMO, but PS2 has more games as of now because they released the system over a year ago.

More games, PS2. More potential, X.

XBOX. I HAVE HALO, MAX PAYNE AND A COUPLE OTHER GAMES. THEY ARE THE SHIT. TRUST ME, GET THE XBOX. NEW GAMES ARE COMING OUT ALMOST WEEKLY.
