ok, now I think Fedor is ducking the UFC.

Give brock credit....couture, mir, herring...not the baddest of baddest HW's on the planet. But he's put some beatings down. Yeah I'd rather see him fight a couple more guys in the UFC before he fights Fedor. Heck I think a rematch with Randy might be all he can handle.

My 2cents...

UFC having the "best" heavyweights is nothing but Dana White and media hype. I'd put Brett Rogers and Alistair Overeem up against any of the UFC's heavies. The UFC literally has only ONE legitimate heavyweight in Brock Lesnar. A few of their heavies could even cut to Light heavyweight. And brock has 4 pro fights, with one loss already, and he hasn't fought anyone. Randy Couture at what 68 years old? Frank Mir hasn't beaten anyone in years (don't count Big Nog, he is way past prime).

People complain that Fedor fights freak show fights against 300+ lb 7 foot tall mammoths, but a fedor Brock lesnar fight would be the same damn thing Fedor's been doing for the past three years.

unless I'm mistaken I beleive the point that you and jacob are trying to make is that an elite boxer can step into an MMA ringt with "just" his boxing skills and pwn. To this I'm saying you're trippin. If I'm reading that wrong, my bad. Of course there very well may be some elite boxers who if they took a few years off to train MMA they may very well make an impact. You don't learn a world class sprawl overnight, and that's what those guys would need to even stand a chance.

.

I don't know those guys, but are you saying they're boxers or wrestlers? On one hand you're making the point that they're elite boxers but than say that they also have "elite" wrestling background.......soooooo, they're pretty much MMA'ers?

Even without grappling training some of them could and I think would tag any chin. If they connect it's over. I'm telling you. The speed of elite and most boxers have are outstanding. They are so quick and pack scary power. A lot of times you don't see where thier fist are coming from. With mmma training they would be greatly enhanced. I've seen mma fighrers invite boxers and I've even brought some of them to mma gyms to help get sparing..can you say ko....see many boxers ko them trying to come in on them. The biggest problem I've seen is kicks thrown at the boxers. Thats a better way of setting things up to take a boxer down. The average person training in mma who's not a wrestling champ isn't that fast shoot in on quick boxers. Reaction, speed and coordination gives them advantages.

I agree, Brock is a freak you can't deny that. But he really hasn't fought championship talent. Herring has always been a Heavyweight stepping stone. I want to see Brock beat a striker thats as big as him or at least within 20lbs. I'd much rather see Brock fight Brett Rogers or Alistair than anyone in the UFC, except for Shane Carwin - he looks like he has the horsepower.

All I'm saying is that everyone thinks the UFC has all the talent in every division, but honestly their Heavyweight division is lackluster at best. Just sit down for a minute and put the UFC heavies against the Strikeforce Heavies and look at the matchups. I'd give the edge to alistair and brett in pretty much every fight, and theres not a single fight I'd say they were underdogs.

So the notion that Fedor is fighting second rate talent in Strikeforce is far far from the truth.

Oh gawd! Another I want to give all boxers a BJ speech.

Most MMA fighters do have boxing coaches.

Boxing is the superior sport, not the superior art. That is our point. The level of athleticism and competition in boxing is leagues above MMA. A guy like Anderson Silva would be a very typical contender in pro boxing. In MMA, he's a superstud.

what are you talking about?

boxing is slowely dying....mma is the future

lotsa boxers gettin their ass handed to them in UFC

He did.

Roy Jones wants to fight Anderson Silva.

Kimbo can beat Lesnar...
LOL

bro for the longest time I thought you understood "fighting"

lol @ kimbo beating Lestner....he got beat by a nobody with pink hair in the first round....

let's see how he does in the ultimate fighter next season before he's given a chance to become a contender in the UFC

Lestner beat Mir and Couture, some of the best heavyweights in the world. who else does he have to beat to be recognized as a champ? I dont get all the hate people have against him....it just shows that brute strength and power goes a long way

Come on traz. You are my boy, so I ain't mad at cha. Boxing is on a delince in north america and parts, canada, and some europe. Yet they remain strong everywhere else. There are boxing demands in parts of the world that mmma has yet to touch. Even in Japan were MMA does okay, boxing is more popular. Like I said, there is boxing every week all over the world. MMA dosen't have that yet. MMA has grown well but hasn't reached the peak of boxing has as a whole. Boxing is the # 1 combat sport in the world currently and in past time. I'm not trying to piss people off but fact is fact. What's popular in north america and little parts of europe dosen't speak for the rest of the world. I know that's what we hear and see on western media but that's all brainwash shit. Dana knows he hasn't reached the heights of boxing has reached yet or ever will. Both sports can exist but people like Dana white continue to cause division among both sports with him wanting to be better. He sucked as a boxing promoter and never was good at it. Take that for what it's worth.
