My office was burgularized Fri, they took a PC and not much else that I could see. I called the PD and they came and took a report. I made a report and was delivering the copy to the PD later that day and my dad called, a young guy said he had my PC and wanted to bring it back.
I called the kid while standing in the PD, he told me some story about a black guy walking down the street and carrying the thing and he asked him what he was going to do with it. He said the guy wanted to sell it for 100 bucks and he talked him down to 75. When he got it home he "noticed" that it had my name on it and his grandfather saw it and knew me. He now wanted the 75 bucks back and to bring it to me. The PD check some of the story that he was telling, none of it checked out. So basicly I told the kid that I'd reimburse him and to bring it. He showed up w/ his grandfather, I asked him some other questions and shit. I told him that it was pretty stupid to steal from a freakin bondsman, they could have his ass locked up for years, and the cameras and shit were all over the office, what dumb fucker. He just sat there with this stupid look. I gave him a check, he asked for cash, I told him that I needed it for insurance purposes. So now I gave hima check for my own computer, that he'll cash.
The arrest warrant willbe out next week, I hope his grandad calls me, the bond will be high.... lol

the kid that called me was the one who stole it imo. None of his story of where he was or who he was with checked out. They went to the guy he was supposedly visiting when the black guy, who was walking down the street carying a CPU, 17" flat screen, keyboard and mouse @ 11:00 am (gimme a break)and talked to him, he said that he no longer lived there and that he saw him the night before and the kid told him that he was going hit some place. They'll get all the info together, then go back and question the kid. The 75.00 check was to nail him down that he actually had the PC at one time. They prolly will go to his buddy and say that he was fingering them, they will give him up. You should have seen the kid when I told him that he was on tape.

He erased all my documents and personal stuff, but left all the other stuff from my dad, etc. I ran system restore but it brought nothing back. My business records are at another facility and the accountant, so it's nothing that I need really for day to day opperations. Shit just pisses me off.

When they get the arrest warrant, I'll call the other bondsmans and they'll tell the family that they can't do the bond. That way they, and they may have anyway, have to come to me to get the kid out. The normal bond on something like this would be about 5K, his will be double that or more.

naw, G-dad is a good guy, I know him more than just casually, known him for 20 years from trading in my store.
He's been off from work for the last few weeks for a knee opperation. Being that he was home, I think he prolly saw his shithead g-son with a new PC and asked him about it. On start up my company name comes up and he prolly saw it. I would guess that he knows he is a piece of shit and was hoping that since he brought it back that if he did steal it, there may not be a prosecution. That's my take on it...

I'm gonna email the investigator to see where he is on it. FYI, to them that don't know, I live in a tiny town of 6K, I know most everyone here, either personally or through business, we've had one business for 30 years this year and my bonding business is 12 years old. In a small town it's hard to get away with shit, and I do have many friends in low places, most of which owe me a favor or money... lol
