Also whats with the grip? I was told when doing deadlifts your hands should be staggered with one hand facing out one hand facing in.

No need to use the staggered grip when using wrist wraps. The point of that type of grip is to hold more weight, so the wraps are making that possible.

It was a nice session for first rom deads of my offseason. I prefer them because going further down does little for me. Keeping my back flat and chest out forces a good stretch while giving my hams, glutes, low back AND even lats a workout.

I use double overhand because its the safest on the back. A reverse grip can twist the spine ever so slightly AND it can lead to bicep tears as well. If I were competing I would practice the reverse grip but now I just focus on what I train.

The guy was somewhat ignorant to the whole environment but I just wanted to ignore them. Once I started my first hard set and got strapped in...I saw he was leaning back on the stack. Well, I get a little pissed about that. DONT TOUCH ME WEIGHTS. Especially when I am getting ready to do a set. Hell, guys there interupt me during a set too. ITS ANNOYING.

It started a couple years ago when I squatted 755 for a double raw. Someone had to share that my technique was bad, I was weak etc etc. Maybe to some guys its true. I have some ugly form but I work within my leverages too. Still, it was annoying. Guys would just post mean shit. And I am sure none actually trained.

awesome lifts. i do those off the power rack pins rather than walk them out.

what did that guy say to you? he gave you an awkward glance and sort of laughed. what was his issue?

I dont really remember what he said. MY bar was more compelling at that moment. I didnt want to be rude but he too was being very rude. Too many have zero gym etiquette.
 
YA ask a random average guy to put 225 on a bar, squat down hold it for a seconds and then come up. That would be tough if not possible for the average person, now ad 500lbs! lol Some people are so ignorant! I will never be able to do anything close to 700! Heck I'll be lucky if I get close to 400, haha

stiff legged rack pulls from various depths arent as diffciult as going to the floor. youd be surprised how much weight you can use. i can get 585 at knee depth off the pins but im short. tall people, that would be much harder. from the floor i cant get over 450 stiff legged. thats a huge difference. using various depths is useful.

I Hear you on that,there's no AC in my gym i was doing dumbell flys when i reached the 100lbs i realized i left my gloves in the truck ,i go get them and when i get back this punk about 25 had laid down on the bench with his shirt off the bench was soaked with sweat,I marched right over there made him grab his towel clean it up then i made him go to the bathroom and get water ,soap and wipe it up,as he left i said i don't never want to see that shit again.
He hasn't been back!

I see shit like this and it depresses me so bad because of a fucked up L5/S1 back and deteriorated disks in my upper neck I can't do any sort of heavy squatting or deads. I have to avoid those exercises. I have a farily thick back but I couldnt even imagine what it would look like If I was able to build the foundation with deads. Just watching future on those romanians made me want to say fuck it and go out and just try it again. Fuckn'ay!

tuesday I was doing chest. Flat DB press. I happened to be there at the daily time when my gym gets invaded by a dozen goddamn 13 yr olds and there skinny ass coach for whatever stupid shit it is they do.
They all run and grab everything in sight like they always do.
I finish my set and put my DB's away and walk the whole 8 feet back and some goddamn kid is sitting on my sweat soaked bench. I say "move" and he gets up and leaves. I grab DBs and finish the next set as i'm coming back from racking them he's standing there again asking me are you done yet? I say "nope, bye" . So next set I'm gettin ready to try the 115's for 6-8. as I lay back with them he is standing 2 fucking feet to my right doing flailing lateral raises with 8 lb dbs. I say, "you might wanna move" he doesnt. I finish, I drop the DB's two inches from his foot. He jumps a fucking mile, scared the dogshit out of him. He looks at me and I smile and say " i told ya to get the fuck out of the way didnt I?"
People with no gym etiquete need a bullet.
 
You should have have told the douche bags next to you when you were done: "Bitches, rack my weight!" lol

O i c thanks for the advice. I'm not really sure or not why this is but it seems like when I do reverse grip I can hold more weight up with the straps than if I do overhand. Idk if its just my forearms aren't strong enough or I have shitty straps.

Also how do you do that in shorts and not tear up your legs? Maybe I'm just a bitch and have sensative skin :rainbow:
