Numbness in Quad

Jobe2004

New member
I was doing Leg Presses today, and on my 4th set, around the 6th rep (did 8 in total, 450lbs), I felt numbness coming from my upper right quad around the center and to the right. I hadn't felt it before. I thought it was merely "pump" but after finishing two more reps stopped doing it.

Has anyone felt something like this? Any input or comments would be greatly appreciated

When you are standing, walking, jumping, squatting, your legs are lower than your heart and get a strong blood supply.

When inverted on a leg press sled, funny things can happen.

hmmm...yah it was def weird...it had not happened to me before, but I guess I'll see if it happens again this week when I do legs...ill try to get in some more stretching

Was it on the surface or deeper in the muscle?

If it was on the surface, then it could be fascia stretching.

Stretching before training is not recommended, warm up with walking or slow jogging, stretch after.

No stretching before training?? I had never heard that before. What about during?

I talked to a trainer at the gym and with my physician and they both said it was probably related to a disc i herniated about 6 months ago. It was on the surface, however. What is fascia stretching>?

Thanks for the helo Tat.

you shouldnt stretch until you reach a full muscle pump. the fascea? is what holds the muscles in place. it also restricts peak growth. there are a lot of ways to to this. here is 1 example i like its for chest. on the last set of dumbell flies lower the weights as far as you can between every rep holding it for a sec. then once you reach failure lower the dumbells all the way and pinch your shoulder blades together and push the center of your chest up as far as you can and hold that position for another 20 seconds after the real pain sets in. ( it hurts like a bitch) im not claiming this is related to your orig. question just the question about the stretching. i know nothing about the numb feeling you had.
