No one, repeat, NO ONE, does marketing like Microsoft

lol @ microsoft being scared off Apple....how much market share does Apple have again?

Rewind to the 80s. Replace the word MS with IBM and Apple with MS. Also include Google and RIM in there.

History repeats. Old dinosaurs have to die to make room for newer hungry ones.

MS makes me money by people needing all kinds of help with their pc's. So from my own perspective, crappy software = high profits for guys like me! Yeah! But bias aside, for friends/family, i tell them to buy apple. Vista just ruined everything.

Also 90% of websites not running on ms technology forced me to evolve or die. I quickly cou'dve become the equivalent of a mainframe programmer. Sucks.

In general if your business plan revolves around marketing and not innovation you are headed for disaster. MS is on the run and needs to
clean house and get some fresh ideas/people running the company.

I like PCs because they are so much more versatile and customizable. PCs=user freedom. Ironically though Microsoft's Xbox division follows the Apple mantra of proprietary hardware, overpriced add-ons and developer restrictions. So they have both ends covered, but wouldn't even be turning a profit on the latter if they didn't charge people to play online. I think they'd be doing so much better if they focused all their efforts on a solid PC philosophy instead of diverting their resources trying to copy Apple's recent success.

Name me one succesful Microsoft product that was original:

Windows = Mac OS (Microsoft's product was DOS)
Excel = Lotus
Word = Word Perfect
Powerpoint = Harvard Graphics
Outlook - many
Xbox = Playstation

Let's not even get into Zoom and they Microsoft player or their phones and mobile software.

Even their big motion control is a result of Nintendo kicking there ass on the last round of game consols.

I will give them this, they did come out with the Tablet computer about 10 yrs ago. Too bad their OS was so shitty nobody used it.

Bing = google

MS makes money cuz pc's are cheaper for foreigners and businesses to buy in bulk. However, apple's lowering costs and google honing on hardware is threatening ms' dominance for the future. Already google's office is taking over ms office in many companies. If google+apple team up, it's lights out for ms.
