Newbie question

I'm trying to do plenty of research prior to getting some gear, but I haven't seen anyone discussing this issue.

My question is: My wife and I are trying to have a baby. Will taking AS affect/ prevent this from happening? Should I wait until she becomes pregnant before I take AS?

We've been trying for nearly a year...and I don't want to mess up my chances.
