new squat pr today

not a max single, but new pr for a set, I managed to squat 440lbs, ass to the floor, no belt, for a fairly easy 8 reps. I aim to have 455lbs for at least 6 reps within the next few weeks, so I think it should be easy enough. I've been adding 5-10lbs per week since 405lbs and getting 8 reps every week, so I'm pretty happy about the way its working out
The funny part was I did a double on 405 as my last warmup, so when I stepped out with 440 a bunch of people stopped to watch, figuring I was doing a max single, they looked kinda shocked when I got 8
When I go for 455 I'll video it and post it

thanks guys, I knew I pushed it hard, but my legs actually keep buckling every time I try and walk, they havent done that in years. I imagine I am going to hurt something fierce tomorrow.
I also got a pr on leg press, but dont really count those, 10 plates per side for 10, full range too

440X8 is pretty good...i would be happy with that. I haven't done high rep work like that on squats in a while...Well i will be soon. Thanks for the motivation. Can't wait for a vid...
 
weighing it around 250lbs

sebass, the higher rep stuff is killing me, it was alomst 5 minutes till I could breath after the set, maybe I should try doing cardio once in a while
 
No kidding....I've done 405X10 and when i was done i thought i was going to die...For me it's not so much cardiovascular but more an instance of feeling SUPER lightheaded..

For me R+ala, creatine, + heavy music = PRs for months...i can't wait....

no belt, havent used one in over 5 years, and my development is that much better for it. And since I go ass to the floor, my knees are actually pretty good(the hips take over once you drop below parallel)
I doubt I am the strongest, I know of a few like B Fold that would humble me pretty quick
d3, it'll probably be another year, my goal was to be on stage at least 30lbs heavier than I was, I'd be around 15-20lbs heavier now, so I still have a ways to go
 
good squatting, raw atf is the ONLY way to squat imo

I had 475 for 5 scheduled for tomorrow but my knee is fucked up bigtime :( post up that vid, let me squat vicariously lol

my knees were really hassling me till I took those 2 weeks of when the son was born, that seemed to do it. I may even bring in the camera for 445 next week for some motivation
 
I got 445lbs for 8 today, this is getting harder every week. The last 2 reps were rest pause, but they went up
 
Awesome job again man.

I got a raw 607 x 2 on Sunday after doing GM's. Also set a PR with 1,000 on the Super Yoke for 25', took 735 on the Conan's Wheel for 1.5 turns, then loaded the 365 stone for 5 in 75 seconds. STILL sore...

That's a cool feeling the first time you lift a big enough weight that the whole gym stops to watch you lift.

after seeing BFold's before pictures, reading his stats, downloading some of his videos here and there, and then seeing that i'm merely a month older than he is, i thought the exact same thing! makes me wish i would've known about proper diet and routine when i was younger. i could've transformed myself into a monster by now as well.

better late than never though!

And dieting and your training would kill me..lol. I'm slowly trying to get a little closer to where I need to be. I just have to get there faster than the others do...and heal sometime soon.

funny how different someone elses training can seem. Personally I'm terrified of doing heavy low rep stuff anymore, I get hurt too easily.
I'm in the same boat with goals, slowly trying to get a few steps closer to my goals. I said I wouldnt go back to competing till I was around 40lbs heavier on stage, I've gained about 1/2 of that, so still a long way to go
