Hi everybody. Guy I work with told me about this site.

I'm 22 yo guy that's been training for about 4 years. I started at 155 lb which is pretty light considering I'm 6' 1'. I've been able to get to 194 lbs with about a 13% BF naturally.

My plan is to continue to train naturally until I'm t least 26, maybe a little longer. I may try some of the natural/ legal products before then but I'm most interested in reading about what most of you experienced guys have done, what you've done right/ wrong with AAS and OTC stuff as well as what your training and diets look like. I'd like to get to a solid 230lbs over the next 7 years and be as healthy as possible.

Two quick questions:
Do you have to be a Platinum member to set up a signature? I don't see how to do it anywhere.
What all do you get with the paid membership?

Thanks all.

Well I must admit I like your plan and your approach. It's not often we someone come in with your attitude and its refreshing. My best advice to you is:
1) Go Plat. It's worth it & all the tools are valuable (you'll see)
2) After you go Plat, read, read, read and then read.
3) Don't hesitate to ask questions as that's what this forum is for. And it often benefits if you ask it on the board rather than a PM. Lastly, make sure you read the rules of the forum so you don't make your visit a short one.

And mostly, welcome aboard! :D

That's awesome work and a great attitude! You will learn a ton of stuff in here if you are open minded. Check out the other forums for their wealth of knowledge. It's good to read all about AAS and research it for a long time before getting into it. I was 22 (25 now and only done 1 cycle) when I did my first cycle, but I had been training for 9 years already and I researched for a year and a half.
Something you may be interested in is the Omega Project. You will make gains doing that training as I have naturally.

You have to pay for Plat membership but some might give you a weeks worth for free. I can't figure it out right now or else I would!
You can get to 230 no problem in 7 years.
Yo've come to the right place. EF is addicting!

+1,000,000,000, good plan, right attitude

As far as rights and wrongs over the years, I think we all had a poor diet @ the beginning of our BB-ing lives, God knows I did. Improper form is another big one. Throwing $$$ away on the wrong supplements is another one I was guilty of back in the day....

Things I've done right? Listening to a qualified trainer, DIET, DIET, DIET, training like it's you're last day on earth, setting goals, positivity, PATIENCE (there are no unicorns) and of course joining EF...

Natural, welcome to EF, you have a great attitude & you will learn a lot here.I wish there had been an EF when I was 22! How bout posting up your current diet and training routine so we can see what you're doing right and wrong?

great work and attitude bro. Keep it up and you'll go far.

I definitely recommend going platinum. Especially since you will want to search.

Hey Thanks all.

I'm doing a 4 day split right now. I do it like this:

Legs Squat and Dead Lift - I try to do these on the same day and go heavy. I have to be honest, I don't always get my deads in because the squat takes so much out of me. Deads end up being every other week with a lighter squat workout.

Sqaut: 225x20, 275x15, 325x10, 375x5-7
DL: 275x10, 325x8, 365x5

Chest and Tris:
Flat Bench 135x10, 135x10, 225x8, 250x6, 275x4, 290x2
Inclined DB press: Usually 3-4 sets. Weight varies a lot with these
Dips: Body weight x20 x4

Back and Bis
Bent over DB rows: 4 sets usually max these at about 110x5
Bent Over BB Rows: I usually only do these every other week. 4-5 sets, up to 205
Throw in some Lat Pull Downs and Low Cable rows
Reverse BB curls, regular BB curls.

Shoulders
4 sets of Arnold Presses
3-5 sets of Military Presses
3-5 sets of rear delt raises (not sure if this is the real name for these - stomach on the bench)
Shrugs: 5 sets - maxing out in the mid 400s

This is really just the core of my workout. I try not to do the exact same thing 2 weeks in a row. I also have never worked with a trainer but I based things on what I've read on other sites and focus on the big compound exercises. I've kind of neglected my bis and don't always do the curls listed above. It seems they get plenty sore my back workout.

My diet is usually 5-7 smaller meals of about 400-600 calories. I only get about 50-80 grams of protein from shakes per day from shakes. I eat at least 2 servings per day of tuna or salmon and a chicken breast or lean steak with the other meals. Sometimes pork. I have one cheat day but just over do sugar and carbs. I drink about 5-8 beers per month split up over two weekends.

An average day would look like this:

1-oatmeal/ protein powder/ banana
2-chicken breast/ potato
3-Tuna/ whole wheat bread
4-Shrimp, Chicken, Asparagus, whole wheat pasta w/ tomato sauce and olive oil
5- post workout shake with blended up raw oats and banana
6-sushi or raw smoked salmon before bed and Flax meal

I still live at home while I'm finishing up school so I put it on the list and it magically appears in the Fridge... Once a week one of those meals will be replaced with a local chinese meal or something. Not great but I'm trying to be balanced and live too.

Hey thanks a lot! I'm sure I'll use it...

I'm probably the way I am because my Dad was always into this miracle cure or that one from every health food store around. Besides protein and flax oil/ seeds I've not taken anything. I'm just very skeptical and like to be cautious...

Like the fact that you change up the workouts, I'm a big fan of that.....As far as diet goes, ru trying to add more pounds? If so I'd increase the calories, keep the same foods just up the cals.

maybe some more good fats as well.. maybe a few eggs with breakfast. olive oil/flax/ fish oil too.
maybe go with some leg presses instead of DL.. I feel it in my hams sooo much!

This guy is like the model EF Newbie. We should make this thread a sticky so all noobs can see what their first post should look like. Welcome to the site bro.

I'm trying to gain more and I'm not too worried about gaining a little fat, I figure it's inevitable. What I've done over the last 2 years is kind of cycled my food intake, upping the calories for 6 months and then cutting the calories for 6 months.

I do a good job of eating what I think are the right foods but I could definately improve on tracking actual calories. I eyeball alot. I'm thinking I'll throw some peanut or cashew butter sandwiches in.

The tougest part is eating. I'm never hungry enough anymore. I also find myself trying to lift while stuffed. Not easy.

I'll add in the eggs where I can. Does anybody really do the raw egg thing you see in the movies anymore? JUst curious

Biggest mistake as a newb. Not asking questions. A lot of boards bash on people for asking newb questions but I swear i will ban any mother fucker who does this on ef. Yes you should read and research but no one should ever be discouraged from asking questions no matter how newb they seem.

You will not learn if you do not ask. Lots of the vets hate seeing the same thing asked over and over but I say fuck them and to bad. Ask away. Yes take some time and read (for god sakes please do) but in the end do not be afraid to ask anything.

What do u recommend as far the day to do DLs vs. Squats? I hate backing down on my squats but have a hard time doing these on the same days. I've seen people do them on back day but they stay with me for several days and will still effect my squat a few days later. Thanks.

this guys is the perfect newbie:)...welcome aboard...throw me a pm if you got any questions bro:)...

ef is addicting like sweed said...

Welcome to EF.

Needto, I always did deads with back. SLDL absolutely wreak havok on my hams/glutes tho. wicked slow and concentrating on them pulling the weight up, kill me! haha

Like I said dl/squat and calfs is a whole days work out in its self bro.

Heavy weights. 2-3 mins rest between each set of reps and 5 mins rest between switching from dl to squats. rest between work outs and make a day if it bro. Don't rush it. Breath the a mother fucker well you are resting to. Take in deep breaths and get in the oxygen.

solid post bro..your a good bro radar.

Just protein and creatine. I was looking at Unleashed and Primordial stuff but I'm not sure how effective they would be for me at this point and I want to stay away from anything supressive for a good long while. Looks like Unleashed wouldn't be bad.

I'm picking up some fish oil caps today and BCAAs. Thanks all!

Peace!

Love BCAA's

Great attitude bro. I started gear at 25 and haven't looked back since. I'm 35 now and have done over 20 cycles. When I came out of Marine boot camp I was 135lbs soaking wet. I am now 215lbs ~10%bf.

The BAD:

1)AA'S are highly addictive(mentally), so once you start you probably won't want to stop.
2)its a felony in the usa to possess them
3)you risk infection every time you pin(rare)
4)there are lots of weird potential sides, i.e. gyno, hair loss, bloat, acne, insomnia etc.(most are manageable though)
5)most orals are liver toxic
6)you can possibly become infertile
7)you may have to stay on for life to maintain normal testosterone levels if you don't recover properly.
8)your size and strength will jump up and down when you go on and off which can be quite depressing when you're new to it.
9)its a very expensive lifestyle. protein powders, gear, and good foods run a toll on your wallet over time. You'll need a good job for sure. $8/hour at Micky D's aint gonna cut it.
10)Eventually nothing in your closet will fit. Finding jeans that fit right is near impossible and 2xl-3xl shirts fit great in the shoulders but are too long or too wide in the gut.
11)Gyno is a very good possibility

The Good:
1)You look better than everyone else.
2)You are stronger than everyone else.
3)Confidence in everything you do improves(work, school, girls, etc.)
4)Sex drive is great(most of the time)
5)Most chicks love big muscles(not all though)
6)More respect from pretty much everyone you meet.
7)People move out of your way, instead of you moving out of theirs.
8)Gear is motivational. For the first time you in your life you will actually see results from lifting weights, unlike now.
9)You will feel superior to the natty peeps in your gym that you see busting their assess week after week and never look any different. It sort of makes them look "stupid".
10)and tons of other stuff...

But overall I say its a very positive thing, unlike rec drugs that do nothing for you.

Hey bros. I didn't get lazy and just disappear. I had a bit of a setback. I was on my bike and got hit by a fuckin car! Was very lucky but broke my arm. Hit and run.

Anyway, I'm still squating but that's about it for a while...

sorry to hear about that Bro. I just sent you some K 'cause you are the most level headed newbie that I have come across in quite some time. I was going thru your whole thread....you mentioned that you were too dead to do deadlifts (no pun intended) after squatting. ever think about alternating with squats first one workout and deads first for your next workout?

just a thought

welcome to the best fitness site on the planet :artist:
