Nelson Montana-why do you think no one keeps their gains?

just curious, you comment alot about this.

i wasted a whole cart of tren and kept maybe 3 pounds....then i learned how to keep my gains. my last 2 cycles (number 2 and 3)
ive kept all or almost all the weight i gained. No, not all was muscle, and even though water dropped i used creatine to make up the difference( just psychological).
both cycles i gained in the neiborhood of 20 pounds, 25 the first time and 17 the last.
the first 25 was all muslce, my body fat was the same afterward as before, last cycle about 5 lbs were fat.
This may be because i wasnt at my max weight yet...i realize that but still I KEPT MY GAINS, (and managed to gain while off as well)
one year ago...170 11%
now...225 16%

wondering what your reasoning was...

I'm up 12lbs and off 8 since my cycle ended 5 months ago. My strength gains are almost all gone now due to a semi serious shoulder injury I got snowboarding. My leg strength is 100%, in fact, I've been steadily getting heavier lifts in.

My cycle was sust250/once a week for 10 weeks. Next cycle I will do one shot every 6 days, with a frontloading period. I'm pretty happy with where I am.

I think Nelson has a bit of a point. I would guess that a lot of people will lose all of their gains if they quit juicing for long enough. I've seen it happen to people. I've also seen people that continued making gains long after they finished their cycle. I guess it's sort of unpredictable.

Obviously you won't stay the same size or have that "look" when your off gear. However I do believe after a few cycles your body starts to take on a new shape and composition even if your not quite as big. Furthermore many feel that they can return to a bigger size naturally due to previous AAS use.

does anyone have the evidence of cell/dna manupulations cause by aas, i mean yes they make you look better, but as stated above, some are genetically predisposed to be big, can long term aAs cause one to change their genes by transorming the body permanantly?

i also keep almost all my strenght(not that i gain much), and my muscles are hard now, a year ago they were kind of soft when you squeezed them
again, i know i could have got to this point naturally but i used juice to accelarate my growth. my size at this point is still not too much for my body, so i have little trouble keeping it

btw nelson, that post on losing your gains in the long run really opened my eyes...i now only plan 2 more cycles, i want to get to about 240 fairly lean. i feel that i will just lose it if i go higher. i may well lose the 240. one thing though...i will not keep using steroids just to maintain.i feel for me that would be addiction.

I think there's a misunderstanding here. I'm a big believer in keeping gains, but there are dozens of variables involved.

For the most part, gains that are too severe or that come too quickly will not be maintained very long simply because the body can not adapt to the additional size. One reason is natural T levels. If you've reached your genetic max, your natural T levels will not be able to hold an additional 30 pounds of muscle. A reasonable permanent gain that can be expected from a cycle is about five pounds. Maybe ten. But if you held on to much more than that, it's probably because you were capabe on that weight all along.

I think it's a joke when guys boast about gains of 40 pounds or how big they are while on. That's easy. It's how much you maintain without assistance that counts -- unless your lifestyle revolves around staying on drugs.

I try to shoot for 12 pounds LBM everytime I cycle. You do not think GH helps keep gains?

I think after my first cycle of test cyp 250mgs ew and anavars 40mgs ed I ended up keeping 10lbs. I was up around 22lbs. I slacked a lot after my cycle was over so I truly feel I couldve kept more, like 12-14. I think 10 lbs is a crazy amount for me to keep with my body type. (9 weeks is a short time for 10lbs imo.) I think with my next cycle I should be able to hold onto 15lbs minimum if I can keep my head out of my rear. I am sure it varies greatly per person but couldn't see anyone keeping 30lbs especially if they are over their genetic potential and stay clean for more than 6 months. When I am talking about lbs I am speaking of lean muscle.

a friend of mine started doing Deca cycles on and off and probably gained about 50lb in 2 years time. He kept the size and strength for as long as he was lifting weight and ate big(atleast maintenance calorie intake). He then stopped lifting and I just met him. In 1 year he has probably lost 40lb and he really looked small. BUT, remember that he didn't workout for a year and therefor doidn't eat much either. It's not hard to figure out that if you once did steroids and gained 50lb, total weight of 230lb, then just dropped all training and never did shit for one year and ate like your weight was 180 you would probably loose a LOT and end up somewhere at 190-200 or so.

I do beleeve it's easier for one that has been at that weight and lost it, to gain it back again pretty quick(maybe not 40-50lb but if you loose 20lb it will not be that big problem to gain it back) Just look at the Colorado Experiment ;)
