needsize at 8 weeks out...critiques welcome

needsize

These were taken first thing this morning. I didnt bother paying attention to where the sun was and it shaded me in a few of the shots, but you get the idea.
BTW, the show I'm doing is my first, just a level 1

You are looking straight up nasty Homie...

Only thing I see is that your quads are so fucking big they make your calves look tiny.

Thanks guys, calves suck anyway, they are the goal for next year. You'd be surprised at how small my quads measure, that tiny frame of mine is starting to come in handy.
The show is in Brantford, ON

just curious...what's your bf right now?

I'm supposed to get tested today, but it was 9% 2 weeks ago so I'm guessing around 8%, which means at least another 3-4% to go

If you're going to have an over developed bodypart then the thighs are the ones you want it to be. It shows you're working your ass off and not just working arms to impress some chicks.

Awesome stuff needsize. I would love to critique something, but it all looks pretty well to me. Just keep doing whatever your doing, cause its working good.

damn I love feedback like this....

I stopped the pgf-2a weeks ago, acccording to measurements it was working, but I was progressing so well I decided to drop it until later

You need to post a double bi rear to see how ripped the back is. It seems your front half is more ripped than your back. I'm the exact opposite.

Also, what's the waist size?

Lastly, you have a PM on ology.

HOLY CHRIST!

NS I might need ya input on a few things....

i think you should merge all the posts of your progress so we can see the transition

looking like an absolute beast bro :)

Thanks dialtone, legs are the one bodypart I wont ever slack on, I just wish I could train them without wanting to vomit at the end.

Heres the back double bi, I am definitey more ripped in front than back, I hold lots of crap back there. This other pic will give an idea of where I started and how far I've come

If you guys hope over to the training board, needsize keeps us updated with pics over there of his progress. Anyway, looking great bro. 8 weeks out? You look like you could be contest ready in 4.

hey brantford isn't too far from me, what are the details on the show? admission costs?

location?

The show is september 27. Finals are at 7pm, i believe tickets are $40, and its at the Sanderson Centre. Paul Dillet is guest posing, hes one of my favourite pros so I cant wait to see that. There is also an open competition for anyone who hasnt won their pro card yet

wicked...

wicked...can you put some PGF-2a on your back? legs are large, your front side is nicely shredded. Overall dude, you are one shredded mofo beast!!!

"Brantford Championships
Level 1
September 27, 2003

Most level one shows i've gone to were around $20 for Prejudging (which is usually around 11am) and around $40 for the night show (which is usually around 7pm).

Nice Size.

Critique:

Calves are a little small; Back needs to be a little more ripped. Nice front and nice thighs. Work the calves and back harder.

Good luck in the comp.

Geoff

Tech One is bang on except pre judging is $15.

Jungle, I was using pgf on the love handles, but at this point want to rely just on the diet. I know my back is still soft, but thats why I have 8 weeks left.

Just one comment on the POSING NeedSize — just a personal preference –_but the gap between your arm and chest in your side pose just doesnt make you look as thick as you really are in that pose. I think if you pulled your arm into your abs a bit more, arched the back and stuck that chest out you'd look bigger in that pose.

also, if you flare your lats back out after pinching your shoulder blades in the rear double bi your back will look wider.

Just an opinion, looking good man. thanks for posting the updated pics

Looking solid bro. Your calves are your lagging bp, you can see that, BUT they still look great. I think you will do real well, just keep hammering that bf down. Yes, your posing does need some work, I would suggest you find a cheap coach that will show you the ropes. I have seen some really great posing coaches and they didnt cost that much.

Great work bro. Peace.

cool, if I can get up there, I may just go :)

that would be great bro, the bigger the cheering section, the better.

BodybuildingUniverse, appreciate the feedback. Posing is still my weakness, I've only had one session with fyre to learn the mandatories, so lots of work left there. I also found it really hard to hit the poses 5 minutes after getting out of bed this morning, I was really tired and shaky, but it wont be any better on contest day either

kronk, I;ve got an awesome coach, fyre from the womens board. She really knows here stuff, and shes hot to boot, so I dont mind the sessions. Last year she got a blind guy ready for the show, so I figure she is qualified to help my sorry ass

Perfect. To be honest, some of the best posing coaches I have seen are women. :) Your in good hands my man, and you really look solid. Your quads and thigh's are jacked. Cant wait to see you at comp time. Peace

It's good to practice going thru your entire routine 5-10 times in a row right after a workout. Don't always practice when you're feeling fresh. When you get onstage it can feel like 90 degrees under those lights when you're dehydrated. You need to be able to get thru the routine without shaking. I sometimes practice wearing sweats.

Hey man looking sick.

One suggestion though, during your bicep poses, when your fist is clenched try to make it face your bicep and not outwards. I hope you know what I am talking about. By doing this, you'll get a MUCH better bicep peak.

Thanks guy, some good advice.
DialTone, I was thinking the same thing, including call outs, I imagine its going to get tiring. Fyre makes me hold the poses a lot longer than you should have to, to get me in the habit, but I still have a lot of work left till everything feels natural

Tranformation is coming along great...Damn I need to compete next year...I always say that

shit those are some jakked legs! Good luck with trimming up your back and such.

Just out of curiousity, what are your stats? (height, weight, bench, dl, squat)

Good luck man

Needsize, looking damn good bro! It's nice to see someone else that has quads that dwarf their upper body.....I hear judges love big legs! What are your stats and measurements?

Muscleup, I kept saying the same thing. Then last year I made the decision that it didnt matter how my cycles went, I was getting on stage anyway. Well things didnt go nearly as well as I wanted, but I stuck with it anyway, and now I'm starting to think I may kick some ass....
Go for it

Damn good, brother. You are right on target with 8 to go. Looks like just a little fluid retention.....and that's easy to fix at the right time. I like the shaved dome......fuck the hair, it's all about the muscle.

i think you'll do great at your show bro
on a judging stand point i would say your back is a little lagging in width/thickness compaired to other bodyparts. don't take offense, just constructive criticism. you look great though and good luck

Thanks ironmaster, its nice to hear that from a vet with your experience. As for the hair, I figure it goes with the build anyway (Plus it has thinned a bit....) Wife hates it but we cant all be pretty...

As for stats, these are the latest, but they will surprise as I am not that huge, my small frame just helps the illusion.
Height just under 5'9"
weight 214lbs
bodyfat should be 8%
arms cold 18 1/2
quads 26.5

As for lifts, I dont do singles very often
deadlift (no belt or straps) 500 x 9 (theres a video of it on here somewhere), 550 x 5 reps, 600 x 1(pic of that in pics forum)
squat 455 x 5 reps (ass to the floor, no belt or wraps)
bench 335 x 5, 405 x 1
