1. Is there a certain way i suppose to breath when i run??? Is it better to breath thru your mouth or noise??

2. I stretch everytime before i run but sometimes i can go the whole time and not feel any pain or sometimes my lower back will hurt for a minute if i ran to long and maybe the next day during the run the front part of my cafves might hurt. Is there a certain way i should run?

3. When i use to be in the gym and did cardio on the machines i use to have a bottle of water and drank some water every 5 minutes. Do i need to do that while im jogging also?? The reason i dont is because i see everybody else jogging and they never have a water bottle.

1) Breathe through both. Through your mouth but some air will naturally sift thruogh your nose as well.

2) Pain is just french for bread. It also tells you if you have a real problem - suck it up and keep running. Also get stride analysis done at a good running store that knows what they are doing.

3) I only bring water on runs of 12 miles or more. You will be just fine for runs under an hour. MAybe do a route with a water fountan or do a loop and leave the bottle on the ground. You likely sweat more in the gym than you do outside unless you go out in brutal heat.

heres the deal. If you have pain in the front of calves it may be shin splints. It hurts liekhell, but you can suck it up and run. The best thig for it is ice and heat after your run.

as far as breathing, you need to use both, the biggest thing is not to gasp for air even when you start to get winded. Control breathing,

running in the gym on a tradmil and road running are completley 2 different animals. tread mills are lower impact than running roads or trails.

As far as water, I would not woryy about it. Most people who bring water on runs drink to much and end up cramping. If you bring water, remember small drinks just to get the the dryness out of mouth.

If you start cramping, try raising your arms over your head for 30 seconds. KEEP RUNNING THOUGH DON"T STOP. raising your arms relaxes the abs and lower back.

I hope that helps

THE BIGGEST MISTAKES I have noticed with runners:
1. Don't get a good warm up. Don't just bolt out the door and try to out-run the speed of light. If u listen to music when u run, start up with a slow song. After u have been running for a few minutes... THEN GO NUTZ. If u properly warm up your muscles, u will get less shin splints and your runs will last longer, 2.
2. Relax when u run. U can go fast and still relax. Keep your arms relaxed.
3. Some people get crazy with the breathing stuff. Pay attention to it but not so much you hyperventilate. Your body will take care of its self.

When I run, I mix it up. I will run for 5 minutes really chilled out.
Then, I pop on a fast song and alternate sprints with fast paced running... to a light jog and do that over and over. I also do hills about 2 times a week. Find what u like. It's the only way to get yourself to stick to it. It won't do u any good unless u stick to it.

Mix it up, my friend,

Jogging, cardio, can be, should be fun, find what you like and go do it, if its not fun, really makes it a pain.

You can breath through your mouth....slower runs shouldbe 3:2 (3 in and two 0ut) and faster funs are 2:1 (two in 1 out)
