Try playing an 82 (84?) game season, practicing every day, hitting the gym, all the while being away from home for half the year and tell me you couldn't use a little something for recovery. Jesus man, I swear you're just not getting it. Steroids DO NOT HAVE TO EQUAL BIG BULGING MUSCLES; there's many reasons to take them.
It's all speculation, but I thought it was established that a good 80-85% of baseball players have at least tried steroids.
Once you get past the fact that you don't have to look jacked to be using gear, it's really quite obvious why athletes juice. Their sport is their life. Why wouldn't they want to guarantee themselves of being the best player they can be? Talent is important, but if you take 2 guys with equal talent and give one steroids and the other stays natural, who makes the team?
