Navy Seals fighting videos?

redguru said:
You talking about the dips, pullups and pushup program? About 20 minutes of each?

They had several of the videos. The one I am talking about did incorparate several different types of pushups and chins but also a lot of ab work and straight shoulder work. I was a lot younger when I did it so I don't remember exactly but it kicked my ass at the time.

The whole "secret death touch" system that is talked about by those who've never had military experience, is merely ignorance that stems from the whole "mystique" aspect of elite force combat units. I can guarantee you there is absolutely no "secret" whatsoever in any of their training. A NHB practicioner with 1 year exp. will handily smash a seal or marine 9 times out of 10. To the seals credit, they are tough and focused, but at the same time they are mindless drones who would not think twice about butchering a school bus full of kids if they were given the order.

for knife fighting learn kali
for disarming opponents and fighting dirty (aka waste the fuckers before they can get a chance to waste you) learn jeet kun do or krav maga

WTF is this shit about mindless drones? The SEALs I know are very thoughtful and resourceful. That school bus quote is a little below the belt, wouldn't you say?

Get the fuck outta here! It is true that SEALs don't have nearly the hand to hand that many people think (they run, shoot, and swim lots). It's also true that not all Marines(it depends on location, Occupational Specialty, and other factors) even practice H2H.
HOWEVER, every SEAL and Field Marine I know has more than enough training and conditioning to handle most 1-yr NHB pratitioners. Of course, that is not set in stone. Some martial artists work very hard and have much potential, but that statement just doesn' carry much weight.
SEALs being mindless drones, that's completely untrue, and I won't even respond to the school bus comment.

yeah ive never met anyone in the marines who believed in the secret death touch.

a buddy of mine is a marine corps martials arts instructor and he said the ground fighting is all judo/bjj and the standing is the same with some basic striking that they use for off balancing

im not positive but i am very suspect about the secret tapes.. i mean.. its been a secret for centuries but now for 19.99 you can learn..

I am not a Seal nor have I been to BUDs but i did try out twice and due to the fact i am in a advanced technical field I was denied a chance "service member needed in the fleet".However when I was doing my package and trying to get over there I got to know quite a bit of people over there.Instructors, master Chief of BUDS,OIC of Team 1 to name a few.Any time it has ever been brought up about SEAL's H2H training it has been said the guys who know it go learn it on there own.Its not needed in the teams. As said above for a SEAL to engage in H2H they fucked up already.

About the mindless drone theory......I would think that any one who operates succesfully on foreign soil in teams of five to ten feared by entire army's would be far from mindless.
