:p :p Doc prescribed me a nasal spray for my allergy..he told me this is a nasal steroid for allergy...anyone knows if I sniff this shit 2 or 3 times the daily dose will give me any anabolic effect?? I'm not a doc so I don't know if we are talking about the same steroids or this is something different... :p :p

no nice try,,,no anabolic features in your spray. Stuff works tho

Yeah, it's probably catabolic but I doubt that it will have much of a negative effect as I assume you were presribed a spray that works topically rather than by getting in your bloodstream.

Its pretty CATABOLIC actually :eek2:....The more you take, the more of the catabolic ramifications you will probably endure :(

What exactly did your doctor prescribe to you? Flonase.. Rhinocort.. Nasacort?? There are actually some allergy nasal sprays that aren't corticosteroids... those major ones listed are though.. but i'm not sure where people got their information.. but using an allergy nasal spray will have NO effect what so ever on your bodybuilding attempts.. if anything it will make it better.. you'll be able to breathe.. the dosage of such things is SO low that you won't even notice a difference.. I am unfortuantly very close to my ENT and have asked them about it and said it would take an actual shot of corticosteroids to see any minimal difference.. a concentrated shot.. the nasal sprays won't do a thing..

Anyway.. wanted to clear that up for you.. i've had great results from Flonase in the past.. along with a Allegra-D.. Clarinex.. etc.. a spray and a pill usually works best for me.. but if you really have allergies and want some long term relief.. do what i do.. allergy vaccinations.. a shot every 5-7 days.. and over time.. you can opt to do the shots at home.. free slin pins.. :).. every week or so i give myself a tiny little shot.. .02cc with a 27g pin SubQ.. no pain at all and COMPLETELY clears all symptoms.. and over time the body will build an immunity to whatever your allergic too and then you never have to take anything again.. sounds grand huh?

there used to be a testosterone nasal spray.

I actually think there still is.. or something similar.. there are ways to make certain substances to be used intranasal.. but the effectiveness isn't quite that great.. ease of use.. yeah maybe.. but if i'm gonna do something.. i want it to be effective..

save the nose for smelling what all that test is gonna get you.. :) the ladies.. ha ha

Thanks for the answer. I'm actually using Flonase, 2 sprays in every hole, 2 times a day plus Zyrtec once a day, having great results from both. I did the vaccine treatment like 9 years ago! my allergy was very bad. Sneezing every morning, runny nose, couldn't breath normally, did the vaccine for three years. The first year once a week, second year every 2 weeks and third year once a month. After that my system got very immune to allergy. No more runny nose or sneezing in the morning. Only when I was exposed to dust. But since like 3 months ago, it started very bad from one day to another. Very weird. My nose itch all day long and I can't control it. That's why I'm under these meds to see if this shit stop after some weeks. If not, I'll ask the doc for the vaccines...

That's very true. The amount of steroid you get in a nasal spray is insignificant to cause catabolic effects on your cycle. You probably release more cortisol getting pissed when someone cuts you off in traffic. I've had allergies all my life and have tried all of those sprays. I'm not sure how much, if any, goes systemic, or if it pretty much stays localized in your nasal tissue. I've even gotten 40 mg shots of Depot-medrol, a corticosteroid to settle down my allergies when they flared up while on a cycle; although not the best thing for a bodybuilder, don't forget the AAS block cortisol receptors to some extent, lessening the negatrive effects you might get from corticosteroids.

Zyrtec? Tried and it put me out!

If you don't get relief, you might ask your dr. about Astellin, the only antihystamine (not steroidal) nasal spray. It helped me alot, BUT it has the side effect of leaving a NASTY taste in your mouth ALL DAY. Everything you eat or drink tastes like Astellin all day. By the time the taste went away, it was time for another spray! I decided that the side effect was worse than the symptom and stopped taking it.

Well Zyrtec is quite strong. At the beginning gave me fast pulse, irregular heartbeats, couldn't sleep well and some drowsyness. Also a little bit of irritability. But after some days I got used to it. About "Astellin", haven't tried it but with that side, is not for me...lol.

flonase is quite effective for irritiating allergies. relief is almost instant. if your allergies are really bad try taking allegra simulatenously

i had horrible allergies throught my 20s and early thirties. at that time a lot of the drugs now commonly prescribed had not been introduced so i really suffered. these days there are several terrific prescription drugs. for some reason my allergies are not much of a problem as i have gotten older so rarely take anything anymore.

Flonase is probably one of the better nasal sprays out there.. I used to always use a spray and some type of oral like allegra.. claritin (when it was a prescription).. clarinex.. that helped but i would become immune so fast and i'm allergic to trees and grass.. i would have to switch in a few weeks.. the vaccinations have actually been around for quite a while.. but they weren't as freely prescribed in the 80's and early 90's but they have done a lot more testing now and anyone can really use it.. it's the only way to go.. people get flu shots to suppress the flu.. i do the same for allergies.. completely safe.. I have also heard and somewhat believe that as you age.. your level of reaction to histamines and such is diminished.. which would make sense that as you get older your allergies seem less severe..

have never heard this but sounds feasible. sort of reflexes not as great as you get older.
