I just found my son's profile on myspace and boy are we going to have a talk tonight. He is 11 years old. It says hes 14. His profile is decorated with marijuana leaves...he gave one of his friends his password for them to add a layout for him. Then there is a comment on it from the girl who did the layout asking "do you like the fucking layout I did for you?"

Hes gonna be awfully upset with me now cause I posted a comment on there that says, BETTER CHANGE THAT BACKGROUND NOW, LOVE YOUR MOM!!!


WTF is up with kids these days? Hes gonna be sooooo grounded. I need a vacation BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :worried:

LOL...funny but not funny i know as its your kid.....im sure you'll get his ass straight! but just remember he's just a kid and a kid with technology at his fingertips! can't get too mad at him!
 
hahaha, this reminds me of a similar thing on "the world of warcraft" board. in short, this kid played after his bedtime, and posted about it on the forum. then his mom posted afterwards saying "you are grounded!" lol, laughed my ass off when i saw it.
 
My stepdaughters got grounded for the same thing. They said they were 17 and (they are 13 and 11). They had racy backgrounds and a marijuana leaf on them. SHEESH!

My roomate has a Myspace page and one day i'm going to sign up and PWN him. He is so full of shit, but the best was one day when I was bored I was looking around at the pictures he posted. One of the pictures of his car (94 Mustang V6 which he says is a 5.0 V8) there was this girl who made a comment that my roomate was her boyfriend. I clicked on her picture and she lived about 800mi from where we live and was only 15 years old. My roomate is 21!!!!!!!!! WTF!!!!!!!! I thought it was a joke at first but no, she has pictures of the two of them together on her myspace. I heard my roomate talking about her to his buddies and he told them she was 17.

I so want to just punch him in he ovaries.

Well you can't just assume he won't.

I don't mean to be a rat or tell you how to parent but just look out for it. It's not bad at an older age once you know what to do with it etc. But at 11?
 
probably not. in alot of circles thats just the thing to talk about. if you like cypress hill, snoop, dre, or practically anyone in rap or reggae, or most rock....or.....hmm. wow, i guess you can't really listen to music these days.

Maybe a little supervision when he's online might be in order. I used to thinkn my little sister was an angel. Boy was I wrong. You seem like a natural optimist, which is a great trait, but sometimes leaves a person feeling a little taken advantage of after the dust settles. Good luck with your son.
 
Most or all kids today have absolutely zero respect for themselves or anyone or anything for that matter. You can't punish them like how our parents us to punish us, because you'll end up in jail. Sending them to their rooms isn't much of a punishment these days, because kids have tvs, dvd players, computers, an xbox, and a sony playstation in their bedroom. Kids today have cell phones and blackberries or those sidekicks. Kids today have it way too easy. They are way too spoiled! I honestly don't want to have any children of my own at this point.

She can still read his IM logs and/or pay someone to hack their email password. It's not that difficult.

LOL, happy belated mother's day.
 
I used to check my daughter's myspace every day and made her make certain changes to it if I didn't think it was appropriate.

Then, I asked her to watch those investigative reports that have been on TV about myspace and the next day she deleted her whole page and does not post there anymore.

It was her decision.
 
i remember smoking my first J around 12 or so.... watch that lil shit... i smoked in fear...ahh peer pessure LOL
 
update...his myspace account is officially deleted. Had a nice long argument with him. Hes punished for the time being. Lied in our faces saying he didn't know that it said what it did. lol So, I decided to bring up a few other things that I had heard. He got very defensive so I knew they were true.

I need a beer!!!!!!
 
Move his computer into the living room or common area of the house so he has no privacy on the internet. that'll teach him. Had that done to me once and boy did I learn a lesson.

Don't worry about it. He will be upset for a bit but then forget about it. One day when he's 30 or 40, he'll look back on it and realize how much you cared for hiim. He's a lucky boy to have a concerned mother like you.

just a question though: So having a marijuana as a background for your site means that your smoking pot? ( Is best to ask your son and talk to him than accusing of him that he's doing it especially basing it only on some background that he had use on some site.)

I have my own way of handling my kids and it has always worked. I did not make this thread asking for advice of what to do!

I like having a keylogger installed on my computer, but you need to get one of the good ones that hides itself from the task manager process list and every other easy to find places.
