Ok, I'm two weeks into my first workout cycle in oh.... 3 years?

Anyways, here's where I'm at now:
(Yes, I know, I got a lot of work ahead of me)

Me looking suave? Ok, maybe not:

Classic cliched Myspace angle:

What I'm doing right now.

12 Program, based on 1 set per exercize, 6-10 reps (if I can do 10, I move the weight up)

3 x times a week, each body part getting hit directly 1 time a week.

Cardio: 5-7 minutes tops pre-workout (just enough to get blood flowing before I stretch)

Supplimentation: 5 g l-arginine daily, 5 g glutamine on workout days, animal stack multi vit, 1 airborne daily with l-arginine. 2-3 muscle milk rtd's daily, 2 frusion smoothies daily (that's where I'm getting my extra calories in).

Very noobish workout I know, but I'm getting myself acclimated to doing this again before I go all out. I'd rather build up some muscle (hard gainer here) and momentum before I go crazy.

So far, I've gained about 7 and a half pounds in 2 weeks. Oh. and according to the scale my wife just bought, I either have 24% bf or 16.5% bf.... ugh.

Clean up that sofa so I can sit down. Sheesh.

I can't wait to see your progress. You have nice eyes. :qt:

And of course, a clichéd Myspace angle.

Start Weight: 128 (I was 135-137 ish in the first photos)
Current Weight: 143
Goal Weight: 155-160 for Softball season, we'll see after that.
Bf % Begin: 16.5%
Bf % Current: 14.5%

Strength Gains: Well, I know I'm stronger, but not sure by how much really. The first time I worked out I was doing reps at 135 on the bench (6 reps). The last time I did regular benching I did 8 at 155. So it's a start at any rate. My military presses have gone up from doing sets at 95 lbs to 125 lbs. I don't have a squat rack, I think that's hurting my leg workouts. I've been doing hack squats and lunges, but I always feel like my grip is coming apart too soon.

Supplimentation thus far:

I cut out the Airborne Stuff.

I'm doing 2 of the Big Muscle Milk RTD's daily, I take an animal stack multi daily, and then I also do 5 grams of l-arginine, creatine, and glutamine daily.
I've been trying to get more water in, and I eat every 3 or so hours.

I'm still not doing much cardio, but I'm up to doing 7:30 minutes of running at 7.5 miles an hour on the tredmill before every workout. I've decided that once pratice starts for the season, I'll start doing 2 days of 20 minute running. That's next week : /. I hate running.

Pictureless updates:

In the past few days, I was able to Run a sub 8 Minute Mile again, and got 10x 155 on the Bench. Time to up the weight for the 3rd time this month.

Yay! keep on keeping on, my friend. =-)

I just want to be hot for you. That way when you drop the baby and are looking for someone to hop in the sack with, to, you know, wamr yourself back up, you'll think of me.

Or of Gumby.

You know, whichever.

damn bro, 155 x 10 times!!! some heavy weight maing, be careful.

he is 143lbs, that is pretty good actually... alot of posers in the gym can not even bench their own weight 12 times. He is doing more then his body weight.

good work

I'll be sure to do that.

Pound for pound, I'm in very good shape, esp for just starting back after a 3 year layoff, so I'm not sure where you were going with your comment.

Thanks for the compliment.

Actually, not until the last day or so. He's pretty rich and well known, so I don't mind the comparison.

spiderman 3 coming out soon, so he has been out there recently. could think of worse people to be compared to.

looking good in your pics. you dont have to be a roided out BB to look good. best of luck in your training.

Pictureless update (Sorry no batteries for my Camera)

Bench topped out at 6 x 165 yesterday, I still don't feel like trying for any 1 x BS, I'll wait till I'm doing 185 for reps for that.

Also for my warmup I ran a mile, managed to do it in 7:47. Still slow, but it's getting there.

Weight yesterday was only 141 post workout, I don't think I'm getting enough calories in anymore, I'll need to keep better track of my eating habits.

As far as looks go, post workout I thought I looked pretty pumped; what's bothering me right now is the small amount of fat I have around my middle that's making me have a pooch and some love handles. I'm about at my "ideal" body weight, and I want to put another 20 lbs on top of it, but I'd like to get rid of this fat first. I may focus my weight training on strength and strength alone for a few weeks (and not bulk) and up the cardio, to try and burn that fat off. It's annoying me.

very, very, very hard.

Rome wasn't built in a day, but it only took two shots for me to get your Mother in bed.

Update: Ran 7:39 mile last night preworkout. I noticed about 2 hours after my workout I suddenly had this burst of energy, which kept me from going to bed at a normal time.

Update: Did a mile in 7:28 today. Workout was front squats, step ups, lunges, and leg extensions/flexions.

I'll do a picture update tomorrow.

aren't these also pics of "my friend" from another thread? :FRlol:

Yeah, the first ones were used.

He could have at least used the second batch, there is SOME progress made there lol.

I don't know how different I'll look when I take the photos tomorrow; I seem to be holding at around 143 lbs. Hopefully I at least look more muscular.

I think I do look a LOT more muscular, but that could just be wishful thinking.

In my mind, it looks like I've gained another 5 lbs or so. It just hasn't shown up on the scale : /.

Picture day!

First, todays workout:

Overall, I felt pretty weak today; I ran my warmup mile in 7:22, so going into lifting I was pretty pysched. It was fairly downhill to me from there. I only got 2 x 6 at 165 on the bench, then when I went for more of a "pump" at 135 to finish off I could only get 9. The first 4 reps on the first set felt very easy, then all of the sudden I was just hit with this leaden fatigue that lasted the rest of the chest/back/abs workout.

Ok, enough drivel, here's the photos.

Current Weight: 144. I seem to be pretty much stuck there for now. I wanted to hit AT LEAST 150-155 by the start of softball season, that's on Tuesday, so no dice there.

Here's a side by side comprarison of where I am was to where I am now.

Thus far I've gained 16 lbs, and I *think* I've managed to lower my bf percentage. It's hard to really know because I'm using my scale to measure it, and of course that could be wrong. Today it said my bf was 14% post workout.

I just put in a decent sized online order suppliment wise, my new regimen will be as follows:

ANIMAL PAK x 2 times a day (Morning and pre-workout)

MUSCLE MILK x 1-2 times a day (2 times on workout days, 1 on non workout days) I'm no longer doing the Rtd's, they are getting too expensive.

TRAC XTREME-NO x 1 time a day, 30-45 minutes before I workout

PROBOLIC-SR 30-45 minutes before bedtime.

Any comments, suggestions, and karma of course are appriciated.

Pictureless update: Energy feels pretty solid today, ran a 7:12 Mile pre-workout.

I had an issue in the middle of my workout with dizzy spells, but it went away. Time for some protabolic and then bedtime.

Update: Up to 7 x 165, almost got 8, but not quite, tried to go up to 175, only got 4 there. Ran the mile in 7:07 before I lifted. Considering I took my pre-workout stuff almost 2 hours before I lifted, I'm alright with the results. It's a step above what I'd been doing, and going in, I felt like I had already messed things up.

Still a long way to go before I hit my current goals of a sub 6 mile and 10 x 185 on the bench.

Edit: Meh, here's two pics from today.

nice progress. keep at it!

Plan on it, though I really have to stop drinking on the weekends : /

I'm going to still update this from time to time, but my new training log is here:

http://www.elitefitness.com/forum/showthread.php?t=547246

Needless to say, I'm now running sub 7 miles for my warmups (yay!), but I haven't seemingly gotten any stronger over the past week. I'm starting a 3 x 5 for beginners on Wednesday, we'll see how that works out.
