Ok I'm going to make this short, everytime I've gained muscle, like a noticable amount, it seems to come at once.
Ie. I will start at say,,, 150 for a week, then shoot up to 154, or I was 183-185 for a few months, then next time on the scale i was 190, now in the morning im alwasys 190, it seems that I don't gain muscle steadily, but in bursts, does anyone know what I'm talking about? Is this microphone on?

it's called puberty son
not many peeps here are gonna listen to muscle building tips from a 16yr old

lol...I bet your height does the same thing and your voice is cracking too....lol.

hahahhahaha
HAHHAAHAHA
seriously though. I'm almost 20, cut the kid shit it's immature.
This is a serious thread. If you arent smart enough to contribute, just shut up. Thanks :) ;)

no no no, scale is good, I weigh myself ALL the time, the more you look at your weight and body, the more you know whats going on, that's the only way I can tell if I'm gaining fat, muscle, or its just food and water weight.

they scale doesn't tell you the difference though. Muscle weight more yeah, but how do you know, by your scale, if the gain is in fat or muscle.

It doesn't!!

That;s why the mirror is your other best friend :)

I think that when you stop responding in an immature way and stop talking shit to people who having been at this a longer than you have, people might stop calling you "kid" and hell you might even not be blacked out for a 24 hour period. And you are still growing. I had late growth spurts as well. Wrestled 170 wt class as a junior in high school, and wrestled 220 as a senior. It happens.

I'm almost 20 years old, the only "spurts" i'm getting is because all I do is eat sleep and lift heavy.

Ok so you still never proposed an actual "theory". And you can grow into your early 20's.
Touche (I love that word)

Anywho, my theory is the body does not gradually increase in muscle, but has some sort of bursts of growth. I remember gainiend 4 pounds in a week once, BAM just like that, I have probably gained about 10lbs of fat with my 60 lbs.. so 50lbs of muscle in 1.5 years...

Yes not to mention that those of you who are concerned with fat loss as well as muscle gain need to throw out your scales altogether. Get a tape measure and a mirror. They both work REALLY GOOD. :)

If you are gaining mass and losing fat you will SEE the results. Take pics of yourself in the same bathing suit every 30 days or so.

The number on the scale will just mess with your head.

I grew 1.5 inches taller between 18 and 20....I really couldn't put on much quality muscle mass untill 25....obviously you are an easy gainer...but be carefull your body type will probably put on fat easily too...and you are a little on the short side...so a little will look like alot..

Sorry to say I disagree, with the scale, knowing how much i eat and drink, and mirror, im good to go.

It's still a reasonable observation. Due to your age you will mainly be gaining in spurts.

Wait till your older, like 25+... Then it's more of a steady increase.

Actually, I had a very, very, VERY hard time gaining until I was past 25.
