I would want to know if my SO was doing gear.. and if he had to hide it.. there are more serious issues..

Secrets lead to more secrets and who knows what else..

Plus if anything does ever go wrong i want to know what my SO was taking so he could get the best care possible.. You really don't ever know

Notice how the pussywhipped guys drop off from this thread? Esp w/ a female post endorsing honesty. There are a shitload of guys on here that hide their gear use like I used to hide Playboy Mags from my parents when I was a kid. Couples that have a parent-child type of relationship like this (where one person polices the other's personal choices) will never have a healthy, lasting- relationship.

Many guys I know will bang a stripper at their bachelor party just days before they're about to get married. These are the same guys that will hide their gear use from their wife. The whole marriage will be based on one big set of lies. Thank God for the $200 online divorce websites.

not saying you don't realize this, but it's important to realize that most women are nurturing by nature and this is why they they can't help themselves from modifying the behavior of their s/o.

it's also the main reason why most young girls are attracted to the "bad" boys. they think they can reform them.

this process is self-defeating and destructive to a relationship, but women can't help themselves.

it also has to do with reaction formation and projection, but dullboy doesn't want to get too psycho-babblish.

Dullboy, this is one of the reasons why I am so reluctant to tell her...to avoid the confrontation and becuase she will think that "I have changed fromsince we first met"... which is true to some extent but my love for her will always be the same. BTW - she is NOT financially dependant on me.

Big Cracker - Thanks for the very enlightening post. You bring up a lot of good points. After reading your post I feel like a fu_(king jagoff. But the reason I feel that I have to keep it a secret is that I believe that she will use my gear usage as ammo in fights...for example if I get pissed and start yelling she'll be like "thats your roid rage"..etc. That and she will give me an ultimadem(sp) to quit.


Basically from all the advice I have recieved here are my options:

1) If I continue to use gear..tell her now..b/c she'll end up leaving me when she finds out on her own. But there is also a possibility of her leaving b/c I have been doing it the past 3 years!!! (if I tell her)

2) Quit Gear. (an option I am reluctant to choose)

or

3) Continue to use for the next couple of years and hope for the best?!


Fuck this is a tough situation. Still not sure what to do....leaning towards option (3). I know there are many other fellas here that are in a similar situation as well...It would be nice to hear from those that are in my situation.

Personally, I would move on. She could use it against you some day.

Before any of the gear usage comes up, I reccomend making a "personal movie" with your woman... taping her doing all sorts of things, make sure her face is very recognisable for future reference

On a personal note: I haven't had to deal with anything of the sorts (yet..besides g/f's asking wtf Creatine is, ect.). The woman I'm seeing is 70 miles away... and I'm soon to be done with this one anyway. Too motherly to me, I know she can't help it. But she can't think before she speaks whatsoever... I want someone to have a good time and laugh with... she's like "Pick up your shit" I go: "fuck off... i'm going out with the guys!" lol...great dynamics.

I think it funny as hell now, especially since no one ever sees him, and the once small little pretty girl that he moved into his house, has taken over and put on about 30lbs. Hope hes happy
