of course there are guys that do that. Visit any other part of the city, or any other part of the other 99% of the country, and you'll see them. The drug/sex tour of A'dam aren't the only tourist attractions in Nederland.

Amsterdamn is a really cool place. Lots of History and museums. Please keep in mind that Van Goh and Rembrandt were dutch and a good portion of there art and story are there.

And thend there is WWII, Ann Frank and all that stuff. Really, you can spend a week there and never even get close to the red light district. As for the Coffee shops, give me a break, you are going to one of the worlds great historic cities with art, architecture and shops and spend most of your time wasted?? Ever wonder where the term WASTED comes from??

oh god...another amsterdam story.

I went there also with my cousin (different trip..hes my travel buddy usually). Anyways, he was younger at the time and not as much of a party animal as our last amsterdam/european trip, so he wanted to do all the touristy shit. I tell him i'll meet up with him later in a couple of hours and we'll go

So i decide to go to the coffeeshop and grab a space cake. i figure by the time i go it'll hit me and i'll be good.
So i eat one and about an hour and a half later im walking to the museum and im feeling nothing. This was my first time ever eating one, so im like this is fuckin bullshit.

So naturally, what do I do? I go into another coffeeshop on the way and buy another one. I eat it really fast and then get to the museum.

we're waiting outside on line and im fine...like 10 minutes of waiting, out of nowhere i start cracking up hysterically. Like dying with laughter. I went from completely sober to completely blitzed in literally an instant. My cousin gives me a blank stare and goes "what the fuck wrong with you?"

We finally get inside and i cant stop smiling or laughing. Meanwhile, this is the most depressing and sad place on earth. Im sitting there physically holding my mouth so i dont laugh. Everyone looked at me like i was crazy. I dont even remember anything after that because i was so fuckin high

Thanks bro. And for the rest of you douches, it was a package trip we got a great deal on (1/2 price for eight days) - the choice was either Vienna or Amsterdam and Amsterdam is closer to other cities we wanted to see. Not everyone goes away to get drunk and stoned for a week. We wanted to go to Paris but it was $500 more expensive each so Amsterdam it was.

There is a TON of history there, from 1200 when the city was founded right up to everything getting flattened during WW2 by the Germans. If you guys go away on vacation and all you do is drink, party and do drugs, it's pretty sad. I can do that anytime here without paying for a flight.

We walked through the red light just to see it but it's pretty gross and filled with drug dealers, hookers and live sex shows. I'd rather spend my time actually getting to know a country and another culture. I was joking about the pottery.

No I didn't bang hookers. I banged my girlfriend who I love to travel with because she's cool.

And we saw Anne Frank's house. It was pretty moving when you realize what these people went through. They lived in four rooms with eight people for two years just to stay alive.

Druggies never think of the huge artistic contribution of Nederlanders. A'dam brought this on itself though. They had barges in the 80's where they floated all the foreign junkies for God's sake. The worst part is drugs and hos is the impression people have of the entire country, and North Holland's views on those matters are not shared by much of the rest of the country.
