My Quest to COMPETE - BEAT THE DISEASE!

Sorry for getting upset, or raged, but what do you mean "changing" things? I havent changed anything, sure I may ask of others opinions, but havent changed a thing....

Yesterday was an off day....

last week, I got 260 on deads for my final set x1

I gotta get 265 today right? or do I need to go right into 270??? I am wondering if I am buring myself out with too many sets prior....but I am in this for mass, not pur strength ie singles...

95x12, 150x10, 185x6, 190x6
195x6, 200x6, 225x2, 260x1 (last weeks)

this week

155x10, 190x6, 195x6, 200x6, 205x6, 230x2, 265x1

my advice is to leave the higher reps for squats and let it be singles and lower reps for deads, because of the enormous CNS drain involved with the latter. anyway good job on 265... that's some real nice progress!
and BTW, strength and mass share a very close relationship.

JK, the sets of 6 are really not a high enough % of your max to burn you out.....and until you can deadlift about double bodyweight, I wouldn't worry about burning yourself out...I think the progression looks fine, and you are still nowhere near your potential on this lift......tall, long-limbed guys tend to be natural pullers as well......I would do the workout exactly like you wrote out, and if 265 is a joke and you kill it, then hit 270 and start the weekend off on a high note......I believe every last word in here to be true in terms of the progress you're making, taking into account 'muscle memory', which I am a big believer in, and the Test and EQ....I think you're good for plenty more.....I'd have no problems with you SMOKING 260, then going to 275 and owning that.

you messed me up early this week bigt by saying 275....thats a huge jump and a little much for me to swallow, agreed?

HEAVY DEADS
3 WARM UP
4 X 4 TO 8
WIDE GRIP PULL DOWN
3 X 6 TO 10
CORNER T BAR ROWS
3 X 6 TO 10
REVERSE GRIP PULLDOWN
3 X 6 TO 10

BARBELL SHRUGS
4 X 8 TO 12

I agree, man....I misunderstood your post early in the week, thinking you did 265, when u meant was on tap this week 265 this week......we're talking all these numbers, and I know you've got a lot of potential on that lift, and in the early stages of reacclimating to training, gains are big. and I am just getting pumped up for you.....hit the 265, and use your best judgement on doing 1 more set....if it is a smoke show, man, go to 275 and yank the hell out of it......but this is a journey, no need to get carried away, but don't short-change yourself either.

Last week was almost not happening.....tis why I am Scared of 265..........its not my mind bro...it's the numbness and pain I am still feeling every god damn day....stomach is killing me and My freaking lower back is so taxed, its sick!

Just think of it as 5 more lbs......you know your own body better than anyone else.....you have to be smart and draw the line, but don't short-change yourself either.....I think you'll hit 265.....what you might want to do is lay off the SLDLs for a few weeks and the low-back fatigue should fade.

I can comment and relate to that.

At about 4 or 5 weeks of me concentrating on the compound movements... a la 5x5 ... My spinal erectors feel bullet proof and I've added visable mass to it. My lower back looks way different from my avatar now... I actually have the 2 big erectors popping out now, lol. It sucks, but once your lumbars are conditioned... you'll be so much happier and not shy away from certain lifts anymore.
