my plans for the near future

i have a bench contest next saturday. i'll let you all know how that goes. i'll be lifting in the 242's (used to be a fat 260 lber), with my VERY loose DD. im not going to say any numbers now, but i think i'll open with 315 (shut up...im only 15..AND that's 10 lbs more than my final lift at my last contest).

after that, i plan on having fun with the smolov squat program. (i wonder if it would work for box squats? maybe it would have a better carryover to both deadlift and squat)

so the wednesday after my meet i'm going for a max raw squat and go smolov from there

what should i do for bench? almost all contests in the state are bench-only, and i feel like razing a little hell, but my squat really sucks

maybe i'd just be better off doing this?:

monday - Metal Militia raw bench day

wednesday - DE squat and assistance

friday - Metal militia shirted day

and every third week i'd drop benching and take a ME squat/pull on squat day

(i have used this and it worked rather well)
 
Hell yeah man kick some ass. I think at 15 I would've opened with like 185 lol.
 
Maybe I've just had too much vicodin, but I'm not sure what you're asking. What you should attempt?

Either way, good luck brother...you'll spank the shit out of that comp. Keep us posted.

i guess im wondering if smolov will be a waste of time as most/all contests here are bench-only and i can get fairly good results with metal militia mixed with a little westside
 
i dunno but it looks to me like its all about priorities.

If you do smolov, you are prioritizing squatting.

Your 3 a week routine as i understand it heavily favors benching.
 
well with the benching routine i know that i can still make decent gains on squats/deads..i think thats best. thanks..you guys helped me answer my own question :)

thats one of the goals. then 800, 900, etc. i'll push it as far as i can. it's just a matter of time, which i have a LOT of.
