My Pics (please don't LoL, LoL)

The one, the only, scrawny and weak Protobuilder . . . I figure this is a good way to destroy any credibility I might have. LoL Actually, I figure it'd be a good way to (finally) track my progress visually, and figured I'd let it all hang out and take my lumps from the bastards on EF. This, boys and girls, is what happens when you're 30, 162 pounds, and hitting a top set of 3x210 on squat and 1x305 on deads. LoL It ain't pretty but that's the hand I was dealt.

And that's AFTER months of training. LoL My legs are actually much skinnier in person, although they're getting there. The only thing I'm bummed about is my back being so shitty. I didn't know it was quite that bad. Of everything, back is the only thing I care about being thick and gnarled.

dude, i don't see any problem areas...u r developing nicely!

i would suggest some sun and loose the upper body hair....you would look bigger then.

Thanks, guys. I'm not looking for critiques. I know everything needs work. My body is my weak link. LoL I just finally got around to taking some pics and figured I'd share 'em so people know who they're talking to. I should've taken pics when I started 18 months ago. If I'd of taken these a month ago (end of my cut), I would've had some abs showing. LoL I went from 200, 27% BF to 157, 13% BF over the past 10 months. I'm at 162 now, and going up slowly and steadily, just working on getting stronger on the basic lifts.

Any input is welcome. I'm actually surprised nobody's called me a pussy yet. LoL I know I"ve made at least a few enemies on here . . . LoL :rainbow:

Edit -- Sarge, diet is fine. No problems.

My eyes!!! Make it stop!!! Joking, of course, and if you wanted a bit of input (EDIT: just noticed you said you weren't looking for critiques :p), here goes...

I actually thought your back and taper looked good - neither your back nor anything else is going to be objectively huge at ~160 pounds, but your trap development looks particularly solid. You're proportional and lean (IMO you might've gone a bit overboard with the cut since you weren't planning to stay at that weight), so it's just a matter of continuing to eat and lift. As for the legs, gotta love genetics. ;) I'm pretty much the opposite in terms of relative upper/lower-body strength and size.

Pictures are great for tracking progress. I'd suggest standardizing how you take them and doing so frequently (say, every week or two). Just put the camera on a bookshelf/table/whatever with a time delay and stand in the same place every time you take photos (piece of tape on the floor, whatever works for you).

Take your pick:

Don't get too cocky from the compliments...

Now that would top BW's shorts for most disturbing member content...

Proto, a lot of things aren't pretty. Fortunately for you , there's a very solid base to work from and your high degree of motivation. I wouldn't worry about your back. Just keep with the basics like you have been. The detail will begin to assert itself naturally once you have achieved critical mass. Then you can make an art project of it if you want.

LoL I'd also have to compete w/ BiggT's hairy "before" pic. LoL

Thats it, we're gonna run a poll, lol

Seriously, I think the pics look good....you've got some development, and the traps and back are think. Definitely an athletic look.....you don't need this advice, but here it is, just keep eating and adding weight to the bar, at your height, you've got lots of room to fill out.

look back at these pics in 6 months, and you will be amazed, progress is hard to judge without the pics.

Oh BTW, whats up with the powder pad, makeup brush, ladies antisatic hair brush, and body spritz on your vanity mirror, oh yeah and the vanity mirror

just kidding.

at 162lbs you look the part for a guy who works out. just wait till you put on even 20-30 lbs more. then you'll really start feeling good about it. BTW you should have seen me when i started serious wt training - i was 130 @ 5ft10 lol.

Nice pics ! :) But i too have to ask about the accessoires in front of the mirror :)

Hey, and with the back - a lot depends on light and perspective. If you shave the hair and get some sun, a pro photographer could make pictures of you you wouldnt believe ...

Liek everyone else the pics looks god. you look like you lift and your back isn't small at all, especially the trap area.

You've made huge changes so far, dropping the weight and now starting to add mucle. Keep it up.

My GF talked me into waxing my chest and it look much biger without all that hair covering it up. lol

And like someoe else mentioned lighting playes a huge roll. With the propr lighting, shadows you can look twice the size you are in those pics.

It is what it is. Here's some info and experience I've gleaned over the years. It's not directed at you specifically but it's good to put down because a lot of people in the weightlifting persuit need to hear it - and yeah, it's dumb common sense and yet it is still a devious little trap that has so many people caught in it.

Some people ascribe a lot of importance to size and weight even to the point where relative size to other people helps maintain some kind of psuedo confidence and ego or security (ironically they still see themselves as not big enough - talk about distorted self image and twisted insecurity). But really, when you add 20-30lbs of muscle you will certainly be bigger. Maybe look better....but, it will still be what it is, just different and you'll get used to that too.

This can go one of two ways for people:

1) You will never be big enough and always chasing it (no matter what it is, it's never enough and never "it"). This is why people like to make fast gains and use steroids so much - because you feel like you are getting it. It heightens the chase and anticipation or illusion that you are getting it or about to get it. The best is the "Hey I'm going to compete, and everyone else is taking a ton so now I have to also" - that's been used a number of times by people solely wanting to just take as much as possible and check their common sense at the door. Heck, you might even get satisfied for a bit and like how you look and feel but inevitably, you'll become discontented again because the issue was never really your body or muscles heck, how many people have told you that you look great or are really big by that point, it was you and you haven't learned to accept yourself yet. There's nothing wrong with your body. It's a game of not accepting it and thinking it will change something fundamental or bring you something or fix something or makes you who you are.

2) You will realize that it's a distorted game like so many other things (we have lots of them) and you need to be happy with yourself no matter where you are at and just do your thing. Maybe that happens in 20lbs or 40lbs or 100lbs. Maybe it happens right now. It won't make any difference, it's just how long you want to wait and what you feel like putting yourself through before accepting it.

This is why bodybuilding or lifting is only truly fullfilling if you love the lifting and training. The results are meaningless above good fitness and health unless one is training for a specific purpose or sport, but walking the path, having fun, enjoying your endevours - that's the whole deal. For some people it was always about the chase or changing something about themselves, they either don't last too long maybe find something else to chase or are in it ultra-deep and will be chasing forever. For others, regardless of why they got into it, it becomes a great rewarding persuit that brings them joy and health in life even if they never weigh 250lbs, squat 600, bench 400 raw, or step on a platform or a stage. It's about walking your path with a smile whether your are 120 or 260. Actually, you can apply the same thing to life. It is what it is, enjoy it, do some good, you don't need anything else, get on with it.

You're dead on, madcow. I think weight training (BB'ing in particular) can make you want what you can't / don't have, and you forget about what you DO have. You spend time focusing on what's missing. I wish I had a bigger, stronger frame, but don't. It bums me out from time-to-time but I'm too old to get too worried. LoL On the flip side, I'm good at endurance and have a great immune system (never get sick, recover quickly when I do). Those just aren't "sexy" attributes. Lol

I'm gay. So? LoL The brush is for my back. The makeup is used to paint on my abs before the pictures. Next time, I'll dump the feminine crap and put a handgun, some porn, and a cigar on the countertop so you guys will get off my back. LoL

you know your body's fine when we critique the setting :)
your lats look good in the first pic and you're lean overall. That's good for only "months" of training. Post up some more pics after a year.

Next up, CROTCH SHOT!!!

Bit of advice on your pics - move the bottle of Anal Eaze off your nite stand before snapping pics. OK?

And do not sweat your physique. Give yourself some time and honest effort - you will be amazed at how much your body will transform.

Oh and next time - photoshop some entrails hanging from your hands in your pics.

Mekannik -- I don't know how to photochop or I would've added in some abs. LoL

humantarget -- I'm surprised you didn't lambast me. LoL I half expected it.

nair that back, you and big T could be robin williams body doubles with all that fuzz

you have a better base to build off than I did after that amount of training... give it a couple of years and you'll probably look back with a smile at how far you've come.

hey, i'm a prick and all, but i'd never try and discredit your effort. you obviously worked hard for yourself, and not many guys ever post pics of themselves.
