My new job...with B&W!

Thank you, Warik, BO-CEPHUS, and a few others who see my points, and "agree" with me on them...regardless of *ANY* opinions on actually "smoking!"

To all the others...including you, smallmoves', all I can say is that as long as we live in a somewhat Capitalist economy, tobacco companies will exist--and they'll make millions of dollars..actually, billions :)

As far as targeting "third world" countries...you can cry me a river on that one...;)

Tobacco companies (along with ANY OTHER COMPANY INTERESTED IN MAKING, HMM...A PROFIT?!) market in areas where they believe are untouched, and have potential...plain and simple!

And, no matter how many "Truth" commercials, and anti-smoking campaigns go on...PEOPLE will still fucking smoke!!!

I draw the line. I really do. Know where it is?

I DON'T SMOKE!

About once a month, I'll have a few cigarettes, when I'm REALLY drunk...

When I start smoking more...I'll have to re-evaluate!!!

:D ;) :p

Congratulations on your new job Badkins---I'm sure you'll do well.

Warik---as far as your argument that no one else is effected by cigarette smokers, that's just your common dose of hyperbole and your usual lack of logic. More sick cancer patients leads to more health insurance disbursements which leads to higher healthcare costs for all of us.

Smoking cigarettes is not an isolated problem---it affects all of us in a place that you probably worry about the most----your pocketbook.

Ryan.:)

just to add, lung cancer is now the biggest type of cancer that kills women as well as men (has overtaken breast cancer)

there isnt a very effective treatment for all types

the money recieved in tax is dwarfed by the medical costs like ryan said

niccotine has been shown to be as addictive as heroin

I don't need, nor want, to defend why I took this job.

In a nutshell, it's a great opportunity. Tobacco companies take care of their employees. Cigarettes are a legal product, and until it's made illegal, I have no problem being associated with it/them.

People smoke. Lots of 'em do. They always will.

If y'all haven't noticed, there are little warning labels on EVERY pack of cigarettes, just like alcohol, and, hmmm...steroids , warning of the risks...so, if one chooses to use such products, THEY are accepting said risks.

Preach on if you'd like, but the bottom line is: Although liberals like RyanH want Socialism to take this country over, we still live in a free market economy (to a point...), and consumers still have the right, along with producers, to make their own choices. But I guess the liberals will never understand that...

And neither will the people who still view Big Tobacco (along with Big "Anything") as evil, since they make a profit, legally. That always seems to be the constant with companies, and industries that liberals bash, isn't it?

Damn, I guess I am sort of defending myself, hahaha...

Where on a pack does it say that second and third hand smoke kills 50,000 americans each year. Which in a lot of cases don't smoke themselves but loose there life because of someone else...Good luck with your new job and I hope you get out of it what you are looking for. But to say smoking is ok-and a choice--is wrong----and big tobacco is wrong....out here in california there is no smoking in bars or inclosed places. I wonder why that is?.....It will take the rest of the country to wake up and "do the right thing" but your right smoking will always be legal. I just don't think it should be in public where it can effect other peoples lives. INFECT TRUTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!peace

Wombat (and anyone else of the same opinion...): I never said I agreed with smoking in public places...

Although, my definition of "public" places are only those paid for by TAXPAYERS...which means city parks, city transportation, etc.

Restaurants, bars, etc., are PRIVATE establishments--just like I believe it is the right of an establishment to REFUSE SERVICE TO ANYONE THEY CHOOSE, they so have the right to allow/prohibit smoking...

And I agree, second and third hand smoke is deadly...I think smokers who have children, and smoke around said children, are horrible people...

However, everything else I have said, still stands!

And let it be known, I only used "liberals" like RyanH for descriptive purposes...he's one of few liberals on here that I have respect for, since his opinions are always based on facts--even though they're SKEWED SOMETIMES, HAHA...unlike most of the liberals on here that base their arguments on emotion--YOU KNOW who you are!!!

On that note, 'til the next post...B$
