Hang in there... sometimes I just go on a cannabis bender if I am feeling majorly anxious... just for 2 days or so... other things I have tried that help/help lots are:

Breathing right.. deep and slow!

Inositol/Niacin/B-complex

A nice girlfriend.....

Exercise...

Just curious Gary, but have you ever tried GHB for anxiety?

water boy, i am on 200mgs of primobolan thats it.. i just came off off a fairly heavy cycle not long ago and the anxiety won't leave. so i went to the doc to get on some meds..... im just taking the 200mgs of primo to try and stay in an anabolic state.. its hard to focus on lifting and eating right when i feel like i do..

Paxil will take close to three weeks to hit therapuetic levels. Dr. should have given you a three week script for xanax while you wait for the Paxil to kick in. Do not fret, you will be a new person once this starts working (assuming your problems are chemical, if paxil does not work, then you probably are having more psychological problems that can be worked out with a good psycho-therpaist) Feel free to pm or e-mail me on this subject. And remember, things can only get better!

this is too weird spunky. in September my antianiety med of 17 years began to stop working on and off. At the end of january i quite hesitantly decided i had to try a switch so i was put on paxil and phased off imiprimine. They gave me ativan to ease the anxiety as the imipramine left my system. I added a little wine to the concoction and i was in trouble as the anxiety overwhelmed me i lost my mind and my wife left me. now were separated and im trying to pick up the pieces but some things may not be repairable. Been on the paxil for a month and a week and im not sure its the one. i do feel ok but just not right. i may have to go thru another switch to anafranil (very similar to imipramine) that helped my brother who suffers the same genetic predisposition. This shit really suck doesnt it. thank God for friends family and bros. email me if you want to talk-Mark

Aww, man, is this thread bringing back some nightmares. I remeber once being in a grocery store and saw two young women laughing. I was so overwhelmed by anxiety at that point in my life that I marveled at the fact they were able to laugh. I just couldn't imagine anything even remotelly amusing about life. Paxil, klonipin, and therapy eventually began to make me feel human again, but I had to try four anti depressants and three sedatives before I found the right cocktail that worked for me. I think the important point to remember is that, for the vast majority of us anxiety sufferers, it's not a permanent condition. Think of it as just another hump to get over. If the paxil doesn't level you out after three weeks or so, go back to your doctor and impress upon him just how terrible you feel. Don't pull any punches. I've found that too many doctors think it's all in our heads.

Marky, sorry the pax isn't working for you. I had high hopes..

I've had this problem too, well specifically panic attacks. You need to find out what it is that is making you scared or unhappy. When I got rid of my problem (my ex), the anxiety went with it. Also try not to get scared when you feel the symptoms, because that can make you more anxious. Remember that your body is reacting out of fear, and hence causes your symptoms. As soon as you accept that they are normal responses to stress you will conquer the anxiety.

re: last post:

I'm not sure if spunky or anyone else is having panic attacks it didn't sound like it, but your advice of getting to the root of the matter to help with the occurances was good I think. To help with the symtoms of a full blown attack, I found these things usefull:

a) When I was having them, I would have to leave and find somewhere I could lie on the floor flat on my back, breathe and lookup. This always stopped the worst part of the heartattack feelings.

b) Try to remember that you will not actually die from your heart beating like that.

c) I found that smoking heavy heavy pot would sometimes bring on attacks. I also found getting too wired on coffee/cafeine.

d) Beta agonists such as clen, may not be great for anxiety/panic attacks.
