Yeah, he said he had to go to his daughter's bday party and would be back in about 3 hours. I didn't push to meet his daughter because I figured we could do that if/when the time is right. I said, "I will just stay here because Dev will need a nap, etc before the end of the party. He really didn't want me to stay alone in his house. He insisted I drag Devin to the mall in his stroller. Then, he called like an hour LATE from the party. I could tell he was at a kids party because of all the kids in the background. He's just very odd.

Sounds like he's just really OCD and can't stand things to be any different when he's with someone than when he's by himself. I've noticed the older and set in their ways my single friends get, the more little things the women they date do drives them crazy.

Or maybe he was just over the whole thing and acted like a dick to push you away. You have a kid, a douchebag ex, and whatever other problems a typical 30-something has going on in her life. Might have thought if he was an ass it'd be an easier break.

You could be right. The asshole ex hasn't created any problems and I actually almost never spoke about that unless he asked a question about it. We had lots of fun together when he wasn't nagging me. I think having a baby around was tough (he couldn't get the sexy time whenever he wanted it). Having a 20 something is easier for him to deal with.

Things just may have been getting too real for him in his mind, so he pulled back. I dunno. Sounds like it wouldn't have been anything great if it kept going, so better it ended now instead of if you got invested emotionally.

20 somethings are easier but not better.
You're a mom, that's who you are. Some guys won't want to deal with it but hey, that's their loss. You'll find the right guy when you least expect it and stop looking for him. Good luck.
