Those are the tour dates for SlipKnot in the uk, it's the first place they are visiting on their tour because they are so popular there they decided to kick it off in the uk.

as far as the slipknot debate goes,....
i didn't know that they where put together, does anyone have a link where i can read about it?
i absolutely loved their first cd, it was fresh, new and really brutal;
it would be interesting to know the development of the band if they hadn't become popular so quick
but their second cd (beware, just my humble, subjective, biased opinion following) is clearly new-metal, with the only pupose to sell a maximum amount of copies;

i'm of the opinion that they simply got extremely popular too quick, realising that they can make MUCH more money simply by denying their original principles and producing up to date new metal, requested by many different target groups (even lot's of skaters run around wearing slipknot shirts)

by the time i saw them on mtv they where dead for me, but i don't hate them as a band, or the people that listen to them, it's just not my kind of music anymore

and i don't think that you can hate them for becoming a new metal band, because if i would be in the case of slipknot (being unknow for a long time, and suddenly making the breaktrough; at least that's what i've read on their homepage) and i had to decide between being extremely popular and rich or being an underground band that sticks to their principles, i surely would NOT take the latter

as far as comparing slipknot to metallica, well,..... i don't think you can compare slipknot to early metallica (early metallica = before load), but nowadays metallica have changed a lot, they have become sell outs, like slipknot;

please remember, just my humble, subjective opinion

I read about the slipknot auditioned thing as well..i kind of had a feeling before though, they did come from now where.

They are a nu metal band, but that does not make a difference, even though 90% of nu metal stuff is shit!

In london, they are quite popular, but most people think that they suck, which is true.....what kind of a band has a member who just jumps around on stage!!-hahahah, that was funny!

No you cant compare SlipKnot to Metallica at all. Speaking of Metallica i was just playing 'welcome home (sanitarium)', man i LOVE that bit where James goes 'leave me alone!!' followed by that palm-muted rapid-fire down-picking shred, man that bit rules!!

As for the Knot being auditioned *sigh*

It's just a dirty rotten lie that welsh no power house started and now it's having a trigger effect on everyones subconcious. They formed in 1996, released a really shitty album, dropped some old members gained some new then brought out the self titled album, the rest is history.

Yes, you are right there sic, but so is welsh.
In 1996,after they left(well chucked) the remaining members (dont know which sorry) were joined by the rest of the new line up, who were auditioned.

I for one dont care, i think they suck any way...just my opinion.
