Muscle spasm during injection?

WCWOOD

The other day I was doing my test e injection into my quad which I have done before with no issues. But this time, before I had started injecting, I had gotten my 1" needle about halfway in and my muscle clinched up uncontrollably just one time and really quickly. Like maybe .1 seconds. Pretty much like I flexed it really quickly only I had absolutely nothing to do with it. And it did hurt a little as well. I immediately removed the needle and injected into my glute which I am most comfortable with. Has this happened to anyone else? Did I hit a nerve or something like that? It did kinda scare me a little bc I had never heard anything or experienced anything like that before

I have those occasionally, in my forearm, delts, tris, and other areas,i'm used to it!

Not swollen or in any pain at all. Just kinda scared me a bit. I figured it was a nerve but I didn't know for sure

sounds like you either got close to a nerve or barely nicked it. You'll be ok, lucky that you don't have any swelling from it.

you hit a nerve. take it out. and try again

when you inject in your quad people make the mistake of injecting too low down the leg. its gotta be in the upper outside quadrant. hit the right spot and its an easy injection..

draw a cross on your leg if necessary. when you are sitting down sometimes it seems like you are hitting the right area when you are not

Ive had it happen. No big deal IMO. So long as you stay relaxed and dont freak out or jerk the needle around you should be fine. Maybe keep track of the exact spot and try to miss it next time.

I was sitting down this time where as last time I was standing. Maybe I missed bc of that?

Yup! I yanked the needle first time it happened ,now that hurt, now its no biggie ,no pain afterward because now i stay relaxed.

im sure alot of people are going to say "that is bullshit" or "not necessary" but for any noobs out there reading this, sterile injection protocol would suggest that after pulling the needle out, you change the pin, before injecting into a new spot...

this is important for cutting down on risk of infection, as well as damaging your body by using a dulled needle

I agree, you hit a nerve. No big deal; happens to all of us... Just remember where that spot is, and try to avoid it. But you can't always avoid nerves, and hopefully most often, it's just a twitch and no damage or healing time required.

if you are injecting tren then definately pull it out. unless you enjoy tren cough. happened to me once and I never want to go through that again.

Tren will be a little further down the road for me. it was just test but I still pulled it out anyways.
