letting me vent my frustrations. Oh yea I forgot to mention i'm A recovering addict so pain killers I can't use.

There are some non-narcotic pain killers out there, this is the worst fucking part of being an addict is going to the doctor...a lot of addicts go out because this

I sell spine implants for instrumented spine fusion. Spend my waking moments watching spine surgery, if you would like a surgical reference for an expert opinion don’t hesitate to e-mail me with your location.

Rarely do conditions, like yours actually require anything more than rest, therapy and time. Surgery can be recommended for physician “ulterior motives” or expediency.

good luck...hope you come back stronger and even more motivated than ever :D

Trevdogs correct
I have a compressed disk, which causes me Tons of problems. After seeing the neurologist, I was sent for a Cat scan, then to a Physical Therapist, then a Surgeon, ALL WITHIN A WEEK!! I jumped off that train and took the advice I've told others,,,namely, Make Surgery Last!
Do all the others first, because once you do, the others wont help much. BTW, its been two years, and although Chiropractic did not help me, accupuncture and ART (Active Release Technique), which I was referred to from someone on this board, did. He said:

gotta tell you, I'm glad I did. Good Luck

That shit sucks. Back injuries are weird like that. I've been struggling with sciatica for awhile now. Of all things it happened one night when I was shooting pool.

you could let it heal but it will take time

"Well, if everyone took an mri of their back about 80 percent of them would have some kind of herniation or another. While some back problems are in fact real, most are not. The pain, however, that you feel IS REAL> But you would be surprised the pain the mind can create. "

Well i disagree. When the pain is there the injury is there as well. I had one some years ago and recovered from it without injury or shots.

You will be able to restart weight training real fast (light weights of course), but your judo can take a long time since you don't want it to come back.
When using weight only does excercices that do not hurt what so ever.

As some say here, they can shoot it away, fastest recovery.

Re

A guy at work had the same thing. He tried the epederil a few times but ended up getting it cut out or something. He seems fine now but he's not into martial arts or lifting weights either.

I injured my back in June of 2000 in a car wreck. After seeing two different physical therapists, and a back specialists a few times, I had an MRI. I was diagnosed with three bulging disks and traumatic arthritis in my thoractic spine. The specialist told me surgery could be done, but many patients who have surgery are better temporarily, but end up worse in the long run. So I opted to ride it out. I'm always in pain in the morning, but after I get a hot shower and stretch for about ten minutes, I'm O.K. I'm usually O.K. unless I have to sit for a while, but every once in a while it will be almost unbearable. Vioxx also helps, but irritates my stomach.

DON'T HAVE SURGERY

Do anything else to make yourself feel better, but DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER SURGERY!!!!!

I can't stress this enough, don't let them talk you into it. My aunt had a herniated disk and rather than take the rehab she went in for the quick fix surgery. Before the surgery she was in discomfort, but could still get around and now she can only walk for short distances (like 30') with the help of a walker and the pain is still there. Soon she'll have to use a wheelchair and her quality of life is basically ruined.
