Some of you people might have heard that I hurt my back last week .I didn't do it while I was working out or at judo practice I did it while I was in Canada fishing last week. Can you belive that shit!So I had my MRI today and I have A severly herniated disc.Option A I get A bunch epederil shots and hope it works or surgery.Either way I will be out of commision for some time. It's only been10 days and I'm bored as hell I can't lift no judo shit it hurts even when I take A shit. Was hoping to get some feed back from you guys or if any of you hurt your backs what did you do.The US open is in october would I be ready by then? Thanks for letting me vent my frustrations.:die: Oh yea I forgot to mention i'm A recovering addict so pain killers I can't use.

Ugh! Get well soon 1bigpitbull!

I'm recovering from a herniated disc right now. It's sucks shit. I'm being treated with celebrex and traction. What are epideril shots?

In addition to getting my torn biceps repaired in March of 2001, I had a herniated disk repair in October of 1998. Before the biceps tear, I was squatting 315 for sets of 8, which is a long way from how you feel when you get out of back surgery. I don't think I will ever do sets with 500+ again, and don't really want to, but I know I can get my legs as big as they were using less weight. In short, I had the surgery, it was a long road back, and I don't feel limited and am glad I had it done.

Best of luck to you what ever you decide to do.

First, celebrex is an anti-imflammatory. It is not JUST for arthritis. SEcond, most back problems are psycho-sematic. Now of course you will say, i had an mri and it showed a herniation. Well, if everyone took an mri of their back about 80 percent of them would have some kind of herniation or another. While some back problems are in fact real, most are not. The pain, however, that you feel IS REAL> But you would be surprised the pain the mind can create. The first indication that this is not a physical problem,is to look back before this "back problem" and see if you had any major events going on in your life that would cause you great concern or if one just ended. If there is, you may have found your problem. THere is a book written by a Dr from NYU med that discusses this in more detail. If your back problems came out of nowhere then odds are this is in your head. Even if this occured while lifting, it still may be in your head, and your head just triggered the pain while lifting . I had major back problems a few years back and after seeing drs with no help i read this book. Within a month i was pain free and lifting. Just a suggestion.

Hey bud, sorry to hear that. Last year I fucked my back in a skydiving accident on opening. Screwed my S1and L5 and have degenerative disc damage from years of skydiving hard openings. I was out for 6 months able to do nothing. I could only sit or stand for 15 minutes at a time before I had to switch positions on account of the pain. I gained 30 pounds and thats what got me working out again as soon as I could move around. Doctors said I was screwed with back pain forever. Didn't want to believe it so I started on growth and after a few months of that and hard work my back is loads better. Regenerated and strengthened I guess. Keep the faith man.
