In 1:21 , not sure how this stacks up to other mountain bikers, but it was awesome on a beautiful New England day.

2 hours to rest then working out back.

Life is good.

pavement? dirt trail? what? work with me here.

Lol, your funny...it was a dirt trail but prob. 1/4 pavement, I seriously don't think you could keep up with me. Prove it otherwise, give me some times?

lmao. You're very defensive. I've never once even hinted that I could keep up or that I wanted to.

OMG I RULE AT BOCCE.

Bocce is a great game, especially with a gallon of home-made wine next to you. Here are our courts right outside our houses.

You must have strong legs in order to have gotten your fatass up a hill.

kick then in the shins!

No, I'll wait till about 4:30, that is about the time all the home-made wop wine kicks in and they basically can't throw the ball strait, I'll be the Bocce king tonite for sure.

Approximately 16km per hour is respectable on a mountain bike if you're riding trail. It really depends on the conditions and the amount of time you're in the saddle. If you're riding for only one and a half hours then you can go all out whereas a sustained ride you'll obviously have to pace yourself.

The closest single track I train on is an 11km loop which takes me about 50-55 minutes per loop going steady but it's a bitch in 100% humidity, has 3 serious granny gear sections, the downhills are slow and technical and the flats are mostly sand which is like riding in treacle.

1 mile = 1.61 km

Go metric, the rest of the world has.

Sounds like a nice ride. I like to average about 17-18 MPH on my mountain bike. I guess it just really depends on what your trying to do. Go fast or just have some fun...

I went out Mountain biking last weekend...

I was cruising down the first big hill and trying to pick up speed because there was a creek at the bottom that I was going to jump...

Just as I hit the piece of ground I was going to ramp off of my front tire fell off and I went flying...

Ouch! :)

JayC, thanks for all the info on time/distance for mountain biking it was very helpful! I use metric in some cases, but no one else would know it here!

FFQuads, thank you also, that is a pretty fast ride, I think I was more in the 16km range for the average.

Toga, glad you are ok, rule of thumb is always check your equipment to stay safe :) sounds pretty wild.
