How much does the CHEAPEST motorcycle cost, that you can comfortably do say- 600 miles on one day with?



A tourbike, I suppose they´d call it. One-man road trip kind of thing.

Harleys are loud and expensive and you almost get blown off them while riding. Actual racers won´t let you bring anything, and you´re basically lying on your belly.

I´m talking CHEAP, remember- I dont care about the ultimate but the bang for you buck.

give me an indication of a second hand price range too

Also, how many miles to the gallon do bikes get compared to cars? they´re obviously lighter and have less drag- but then again maybe the smaller design demands leaving out some things that help efficiency?

I doubt the drag is that much less than a car. In fact, I would say it is greater. As for mileage, my bike gets 44 to the gallon (If I don't race it) Kawasaki Ninja, but I doubt it would be comfortable on a 600 mile jaunt in the winter in one day.

so thats at max 21 kilometers on a litre of gas.

Not that much really. Some cars do that. (well, very few)

600 miles in a day is a alot of miles to be on a bike comfortably...you can do it, but its alot of miles especially in weather....a good bike that is dependable for such excursions is gonna cost you 7K-9K for a mid range scoot. you could wait for the 06's to come out and pick up a new 04-05 off the floor, for a great deal...im not into touring or cruisers so i cant give you a good recommendation...now days you really cant buy a bad bike- they are all very well made and have extremely good technology...it will come down to price and comfort...

these are not cheap,but the ultimate in comfort
