Most Important Job?

Right now?? Anyone putting themselves in harms way for the safety and security of the freedom loving masses that inhabit most of this planet (but won't get off their fat asses to defend that freedom. . .like the goddamn French for instance). Wanna talk underpaid?? Check out the average wage of your run-of-the-mill ground pounder.

The next most important job I can do is to help my 57 kindergarteners learn to read! :)

Wow you have 57 little ones to a classroom?!!? That is outragous.

I'll tell you why I think teachers are underpaid. It is a female dominated profession. Female = less pay. I don't get it really, so many teachers are disgusted with the way the system is run. No longer is it about teaching and nuturing the little kids spirit. It's being replacement parents, psychologists, abuse monitors. When did it become so screwed up? In California the elected officials have widdled away the lottery money (let's borrow and promise to pay it back), they built a hugh school on a major envirormental hazzard, which they have now deed okay for our kids, (yea right). Everyone is screaming there's no money and yet the district office (just go look) have nice new offices. At my school, in my room which I have deemed "behind the iron curtain" there was a major water leak from last year. We kept calling to have it repaired. Six months later (I'm still working in that room) when the mold was present they decided to have a look see. "oh you have a problem". Duh! Evacuate at once. After four more additional months fly bye, air quality control checks it out five times, I can move back in. Now are they checking out the adjoining five rooms next to mine? Nope. Okay, now I'm thinking illness for the little ones...yep our taxes dollars at work. Information is a dangerous thing when dealing with schools. I've been on budget committees for years and have seen where the money goes and it isn't the teachers. I'm for vouchers, anyone else?

I got off topic, sorry, I just get so angry when people turn a blind eye to the education of our futures best asset..our children.

Daisy your daughter is precious :)

Peace

I teach 2 classes - each one is half day kinder. 31 in one class, 26 in the other. :) So it isn't QUITE as bad as it sounds. But still, having 31 kindergarteners is tough - I have some babies this year - several are still 4 years old!

Sounds like living hell, respect.

Theres no such thing as most important job. They are all important because they all intertwine together.

Like a colony of ants... There are medic ants, food distributor ants, digging, hunting, spying, protecting. its very complex
