More Growth Than You'd Get On Steroids

I've always fluxed between 170 and 195 with low body fat and good definition. I have trained like a bastard and ate like a bastard ....but always maxed out between somewhere around 195. At 47 (5'10") I find that I can no longer maintain my personal body standard that I enjoyed in my previous 30 years of training.

I can't afford to donate 4 or 5 more years to natural training. My clock is ticking, boys! ...Every day above ground is a good one!!

So yes, I am one of those "easy-way-out cheaters" that is despised by the many 25 year old professional body builders found here on EF. Look, I'm not looking to win any awards in bodybuilding ....but I DO want to take advantage of all possible tools that will help me get as close as possible to my former self. That's what most noobs probably also want to do. We work out hard, but we don't alter our entire lives around weight training and we don't want to be Mr. Olympia either. We just want to get the most out of what we have available and will use all available tools to get there.

Lets say you had a big, fat, dick-shaped tumor sticking out of your forehead and there's two things you can do to have it removed.

(1) There's a drug you can take that would dissolve it in seven days.

(2) You can massage natural oils and salves on it and it would shrink away in seven years.

...Which way would you choose?

THANK YOU Dabuff I was all prepared with my
I like nuts...
when I read yours lmao!!

Nelson awesome post..Now if I could just SLOW DOWN MY EATING!!! I have a hard time eating normal meals...And it's tough having family cook to not eat Ma's Spaghetti and Meat balls once a week. I think eating PROPERLY is harder than eating enough. I have noticed since I have changed my habits SOMEWhat after joining the board my gains are getting faster and faster.

Which sucks because I am trying to loose fat...but I am loosing fat and adding muscle... :( so the lbs keep coming on because I am adding muscle faster than burning fat...Oh well I could have worse complaints for damn sure!! Now Hmmmm Home made Chicken enchiladas!!! Dinner time!!

Keep in mind a hobby of mine is sport bikes..at 250 legit lbs those motorcycles are NOT designed to handle right with you on the back..My end goal is 9 percent bodyfat or so at 235lbs. That will be tough...

Reminds me of Rheo Blair's program for Howorth who consumed 2 cups of Blair's protein with 2-3 quarts of cream, 36 eggs and 2lbs of meat daily. Howorth had a great physique.

Great post! I really think training and diet need to be dialed in...Most people (myself included) find it very hard to get both working just right... thank God for EF and good bro's like you passing on the knowledge!! :)

Another great post Nelson. Thank you.

Nothing wrong with going in and taking advantage of gear. You've earned it. But if you haven't tried these suggestions you may just have another growth burst in you. Increase your training volume and add another 750 calories a day and 2 servings of BIG BLAST. I can't believe you won't put on a few more pounds. And the more you gain naturally, the more you can wind up with while on.

At any rate, at 47, you should keep dosages mild anyway.

Naturally, none of this applies to people who need to LOSE weight. That's another post. : )

Nelson, what would constitute overtraining? 2x daily? 6 times per week?

And a second quesiton, why do so many people report the biggest gains with 3x per week training (5x5, dog crapp etc). A lot of these routines only require 1 set at maximum effort, and hence, will not burn that many calories. Surely eating and eating on such a routine is a recipie for fat gain?

I eat
whole eggs
Beef even the fat
whole milk
whole yogart

Back in the 60's and 70's The bodybuilder ate whole foods fats are def essential to mucsle building , nurological recovery, cartilage growth
brain functions.
Just dont go around eating a buncha fried shit and you should be o.k
