My gear got all dirty

All in all....one of the most amazingly relaxing vacations ever. I kept very busy, but it was good busy. I assisted with an open water class at that quarry, helped with a couple of divemaster classes in the pool, baked a bunch of pies, spent time with family, contracted some renovations to my house I bought, went out a bit with my friends down there...

The only reason I am ready to go to work tomorrow is the fact that I know I am leaving in less than four months.

Looks great. I figured that you would of moved elsewhere where it is warmer (ie Cuba or Argentina). BTW, I'm slow and haven't been keeping up. What happened to your BF?

NC is where my family is....and there is some really amazing diving there, believe it or not. I know people who have been diving all over the world who still consider coastal carolina one of their favorites.

As for the BF.....We broke up in early october. Nothing hugely dramatic...just wasn't working anymore. I still care about him a great deal, still see him a few times a week for scuba related stuff, there were just some major issues we couldn't get past.

Beautiful place. I loved NC but couldn't seem to convince the Good 'ol Boy network to hire me in. Never dove there though.... and I'm with Java on this one. Would have liked the noods on the beach pics... you can send 'em direct if you want, wouldn't bother me a bit.

I'm hearing the job network in NC, particularly the coastal areas is a whole lot of who you know instead of what you know. I'm fortunate to know a lot of people in the area already, but getting to the point where I'm sure I'll be hired by the shop I want to work for has taken a lot of continuous networking.

Yeah, it's a beautiful area....if I had a good camrea I would have loved to take a few moonlight pictures too. It was incredible how clear the night sky got and how well lit the beaches were by the moon....going for a run on the beach in the evening was an incredibly meditative experience for me.

lol....Future coworker. He is a scuba instructor. When I'm working for a dive shop, it's not really going to matter as far as that goes. At my current job it would be far more humiliating.

Nimbus, when I first move down there the charters I'll be working on will all be meg ledge dives, so I plan on bringing in a bit of loot (an intact tooth can sell for a thousand dollars or more depending on the size).
