milk and bodybuilding?

Fronco Columbu writes that in order to process milk your body needs rennin, which only children have in significant amounts. Drinking milk will result in bloating, but not to a huge degree. You can still have a six-pack and drink lots of milk. The difference can only be observed under the bright lights of a contest stage or photo shoot, IMHO.

Corollary question:

I have often heard that if you are prone to allergies or stuffy nose that milk will increase the production of mucous because the proteins in milk are very similar to the proteins in mucous. I was wondering, would the proteins in whey protein have the same effect or is it something else in the milk? How about casein?

Remember Franco Columbu's genetic background (Sicilian, right?) makes him prone to lactose intolerance. If most of your genes come from farther north in Europe, you probably won't have a problem with milk.

Lactose intolerance is mainly a problem for people of Mediterranean, African, or American Indian background.

I'm part Indian, but I think the fact that I'm half-German makes me okay with milk. I drink about a gallon of fat free ED.

I've got a pet cow named MooMoo. I like to drink it straight from the teet! Bad thing is she keeps trying to lay on the couch breaking the god damn thing! Oh no wait that was my ex-wife! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Seriously I drink at least 3 gal every week of 2%

Is that you in your avatar? If so a strong argument FOR milk!

I love milk, especially with my protein powder. Since milk isn't the greatest for cutting, does anyone have any alternative suggestions to what I can mix with my protein shakes? (I have a feeling just water will taste gross)
