Military Press

a good benchmark of strength is usually achieving overheard pressing body weight.....
military style

Oh I know. I call it maniac monday at my gym and I usually go late at night. Becuz all these knuckleheads show up to do chest and arms but thats it. Rest of the week consists of cardio and some other mild stuf they throw in the mix if they are feelin extra froggy. They walk around all tough and shit after throwin up 225 or something lol.

I started doing military presses as part of my 5 x 5 and my shoulders have grown substantially, a great shoulder builder and quite rewarding. There's nothing like liftng a lot of weight above your head to make you feel good :)

Same here ^^

[Bench Press(while not the best measure of true strength the "club boys" with no legs and gelled hair and cologne on at the gym think that means your tough shit and can beat anybody up LOL)

LMAO. Where I live these donkeys are all over the place. On monday(bench press mondays) they go all out on their chest. Then the rest of the week they do half ass exercises for about 20 min.a day. Its a shame seeing a dude that benches 300 and barely squats 135. And deads, they wont even try them.

mate, thats so true, before starting 5x5 i was bench close to my bW, but sucked at sqauts. but now its getting better. i am not big fan of overhead press, but its one of the most exercises

my favorite exercise. I'm closing in on bodyweight which is a goal of mine. Be careful though, GVT put a serious hurting on my old throwing arm so I've cut back completely until I get my rotator tightened up again.

All the strength in the world doesn't mean a thing after taking 6 months off for shoulder surgery.

I also like the Military Press allot, does everyone here do it in a 5x5 routine ?? That is what I do, but to be able to press my body weight over head for 5reps that is a long way off for me :)
