Probably one of the best lifts for overall upper body strength. Lots of people don't do them because they are hard and poundages can be humbling. There's probably no better measure of upper body strength than the overhead press.
I started doing military presses as part of my 5 x 5 and my shoulders have grown substantially, a great shoulder builder and quite rewarding. There's nothing like liftng a lot of weight above your head to make you feel good
I do far more overhead presses than bench presses. Push press, push jerk, clean and jerk... and military press... but I always do it standing, never sitting.
Bingo. Some of the best mass builders my friend are the basics that those old timers used way back in the day.
Bench Press(while not the best measure of true strength the "club boys" with no legs and gelled hair and cologne on at the gym think that means your tough shit and can beat anybody up LOL)
Military Press(true brute force required to push high numbers above your head)
Bent Over rows and Dead lifts(will build a legendary back and add substantial thickness)
Squats(cant build a house on 2x4 and expect it to last gotta have a strong lower base as well as upper body not to mention it helps create substantial overall growth just like a deadlift)
Those 4 lifts are the cream of the crop for me and I do my fair share of isolation excersizes as well.
Squats and deadlifts really help with overall growth as im sure you know.
sorry strayed from topic a little bit but had to explain myself a little bit and some ppl may have been like me and neglected some of these when they first started out due to not understanding how important they were

Did your rear delts grow too? Or just your fronts? I try to only train my rears and middle heads, as the fronts get all the work they need with Flat and incline bench. Blame the hard benches for this.

LMAO. Where I live these donkeys are all over the place. On monday(bench press mondays) they go all out on their chest. Then the rest of the week they do half ass exercises for about 20 min.a day. Its a shame seeing a dude that benches 300 and barely squats 135. And deads, they wont even try them.
