I thought you was cool from reading most of your post but maybe I was wrong!

Man that is all you had to say and not call my Military Patch a Boy Scout Patch! As I have said and you can see from my post that I am new and didn't know that it did that!

its all good bro people here joke around.

Like I said in the first post of why I went in the Military at 17 was because I was a bad tempered MF that was always looking for a fight. Which I look back at now and say yo myself what a jerk I was for some of the things I've done to people. Then I went in the Army and it was my job to kill so my temper has got better in time but sometimes things make me snap! I really didn't even see the LOL til after and when he said that about that Patch that I would die for I just lost it. I do understand now about putting the pics up here! Thanks....

i personally think all men that live in the united states, should be REQUIRED to join the military for an amount of time. It really is a privelage to live here, let alone be born here. People just don't realize the luxuries we have came @ a price.

The only reason i'm not in the armed forces was they wouldn't let me because of my asthma.. but i still went and tried, and damn near died of an asthma attack during the running portion... if i ever outgrow my asthma i'm gonna go back and pass :-)

I see what you're saying, it would do everyone good, but the entire volunteer force works too well. Also, if everyone HAD to join it would get into constitutional issues.

Sorry to hear you got turned down, good luck in the future.

I have no regrets about joining. I learned a lot, developed as a person in ways I could not have in the civilian world, became far more confident, and developed an excellent work ethic. I would like to tell you to go for it but you must decide if you really want to do it. A lot of people join and regret it as soon as they arrive for basic training. I've seen people fake seizures during basic so they can get medically discharged. If you want it, go for it. I am sure you will be glad you did when your time is up. I enlisted when I was 19 and now at 22, I have already lived in Germany for two years and seen places most people will only see pics of. It's a great opportunity to travel, but remember, that travel could be to a very sandy place. Think of the worst case scenario that could occur if you join, then decide if joining is worth that risk.

What branch are you thinking of joining?

Sorry if I'm posting in the wrong section, I'm just looking for advice wherever I can find it...
I've been battling with the idea of joining the military since I was 18, I'm now 23. I just can't seem to get over the need to help in some way if I can. To cut right to the chase, those of you who are in the military, do you feel like you have made a difference? I really dont like Bush or his agenda, but I feel that in order to have peace with myself, I need to know that I've helped other people in some way. The older I get, the more that I feel a duty to help those not as priviledged as us. I'm not some young yahoo who has the wrong idea of war and all of it's atrosities, I feel that I know as much as I can about it and I'm definatly not looking for glory or anything like that, I just want to help. So I guess my question to the military guys is, would you do it again if you had the chance? Thanks to everyone in advance, as this is something that has been ripping at me for a very long time and I'm about to make a final decision.

Dude, I'm going into the Army this November. I'm enlisting either as Ranger or 18x(SPecial Forces Recruit). I'm 28 years old, 4 years college, I have worked in two of the greatest restaurants in our country(look it up) and am dropping everything I know to defend ours. I see nothing wrong with you doing this. I commend you.

I no longer work so I can develop into a machine before I even step foot into boot camp. My friends think I'm nuts. My family thinks I'm nuts. Am I nuts? Fuck yeah I am. I'm tired of seein' good bros dying over there that have kids and old ladies back in the states. I WANT TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS SHIT. Hit me up secure e-mail at [email protected] :Chef:
