exactly, it will accomplish nothing, everyone knows already she is a good player and has the potential to put together 2 good rounds on a minor pga tour event to make the cut, but no way no how could she ever win a tournament on the pga tour, hell she still hasnt won one yet on the lpga tour

When I was in prep school I used to play in a basketball summer league with lower level NBA players and good college players..some of whom went on to the NBA. Even though they were way over my head, I got better at things I could do...I got smarter about the game, since I could never overpower or "out-quick" a pro when I was 17-18.

When I returned to play at my "own level", I had the combined "smarts" of someome who has to compete against better players, and since we were mor or less equal physically, I rose above them with what I learned.

I obviously never played pro ball. But I played Division 1 college hoops, and could have played professionally overseas if I were so inclined. (My brother did).

Michelle Wie will settle in wherever her ability finally takes her. But these experiences will make her better, when she gets there.

Yes and no. Playing against superior competition on the PGA Tour will give her insight into how good she needs to be to compete. What it will not do is teach her how to win. Golf is an individual sport which is markedly different than a team sport like basketball. You can learn to win as a team in basketball, you need to learn to win as an individual in golf. Michelle is not doing that and I think that's a mistake.

As well, playing against better players in basketball will definitely improve your game. I do not think this is so much the case in an individual sport like golf. Will she pick up a few things to try and/or work on? Yes. Will she get a good handle on what parts of her game don't measure up? Sure. However, that is not the same thing.
