Sorry I wasn't on yesterday. I had some stuff going on here with hubby and well I finally stood up to him and told him exactly how I feel about things that he's been doing to me. So far he's acting better but do I think it's a permanent change NOPE! Do I think I"m gonna take it if he doesn't change NOPE!


Ok with that behind me now. :)

M1 - protein smoothie: 6 to 8 oz cold cold water, 1 1/2 scoops vanilla whey protein mix, 1 frozen banana, 4 to 6 medium frozen strawberries. Blend on medium until smooth. THis is really good and refreshing!

I'm hoping the storms don't get to bad tonight or else we won't be able to get to the gym. Keep your fingers crossed!!! :worried:

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for no twisters here either. Spring is just so lovely in the midwest! lol

Honey, I'm sorry about the hubby! It's so emotionally draining to have to TELL people how they should treat you!!!!!! Good luck with it and stay strong! DON'T GIVE IN!

I'm not giving in, I spent alot of my life in the gutter feeling bad about everything about who I am at my core and trying not to upset people b/c I'm a very blunt person and was told that this is a big no no and made me basically not a good person. I know now after a long time of working on me that,that's so not true and that I am a good person, I'm stong and have my own mind and ways of doing things. ANd if he's not on the bandwagon with me it's leaving without him. I just don't have the strength any longer to handle it so I'm not. It messes with my head to much and screws with my training and really my whole fucken world!

For the last 7 years, I've been told I'm the "meanest" woman my bf has ever met - (maybe that's just the scorp coming out) - in any case....I'm not mean unless provoked. Guess he just wanted to make ME the bad guy. I've also heard I'm the most abrasive female he's ever met (which goes along with the first comment, I guess).....and those are the NICE comments I got! lol

I feel ya', girl! You can only "stifle" for so long. You have to be able to be you, and SAY WHAT YOU MEAN. I got tired of tiptoeing around and trying to be "ladylike". Who gives a shit?!?!?! If I can't feel comfortable in my "comfort zone = HOME", I need a new comfort zone!!!!!

^^ EXACTLY ... I lost a lot of 'friends' in this process but I can wake up happy more often than not... and that's what matters to me now.

Thanks ya'll for all the wonderful friendship that I have found here. Things have gone from bad to worse here. I don't know what is going to happen next but I didn't get to go to the fucken gym this evening that really pissed me off. My stomach is in knots and I feel sick.

THanks for letting me vent!
 
Tuesday,3/14

Well the weather did a drop in temps. We got heavy downpours but no severe storms.

I'm not feel well today,no energy no appetite, just down in the dumps. Hubby and I fought all evening until I finally fell asleep. It's draining on my energy big time. Now he's gone from being angry at me for truely nothing and I don't get it but I'm not going to go there. To being afraid of losing me and telling me how much he loves me and asking me if I am going to leave and how he can't picture his life without me. I haven't backed down and told him I love him but I am not gonna continue to live like this and if nothing changes I would rather be alone than live like this for the rest of my life. :rolleyes: :wilted:

So far this morning no food no anything. I have my vitamins and supps set out and ready to take but haven't even gotten that far yet.

I have to go to the grocery store but truely would rather just hybernate all day but with a 3 1/3 yr old little girl in the house I can't afford to do that so put on a happy face for her and carry on.

Awwwwww I feel terrible that you arent happy right now! Usually you are so full of life and you better get well soon. Time is too important and very short to spend is in the 'dumps'.

That's just the beginning of it Bunny. He is upset with me for helping this guy that needs help and asked me for it. He is stuck and can't lose anymore weight. So he and I started going over all that he is doing right now diet,excercise and I told him to start with some weight training b/c he was just doing cardio and tons and tons of it. Soooo he was like ok thanks so much. Then I see him in the gym in the weight room doing some stuff with light db's. I told John he was going to hurt himself b/c he was doing some weird thing and it was dangerous. HE's like SO. I'm like what how can you say that. THis guy asked me for help and I"m going to help him. So I told him about EF and told him he should really check it out b/c there's tons of information on here. I also gave him fitday's addy and the address for the website that shows you how to do the lifts properly for each body part and different workouts. This is not cool with hubby. So he thinks I'm going to leave him or something now b/c I told him bottom line somethings gotta give b/c I would rather be alone than like this. He took that further than I did and now thinks I'm leaving. I said I was not gonna say I would never leave if things don't change but I love him and my kids are my world and if things can be worked out I know it would be the best for all of us. I have no idea why he's so insecure. His dad did this same stuff to his mom and lost her forever. I told him that he's acting just like his dad. He says I know. I said you know what he did to your mom and what happened. I told him it's not fair to do this to me and I'm not gonna take it.
 
I hope that you feel better MGF. I know what that's like I was there about 4 years ago.....just try to keep your "chin up" for your daughter's sake. Keep believeing in yourself, you're strong and you can get through this. Hope things get better soon for you.
 
You are trying to inform, the uninformed. Trying to help another person get the most out of the time in the gym. Alot of people don;t do that, they sit back & watch the poor form, lack of knowledge and cry for help. Why? Well, it's not your 'job' and alot of people have other things more important to worry about, but I applaud you for trying to help someone who needs help. FEELS GOOD to share the knowledge and help someone else doesn't it? Man, I just love helping others like that... makes my friggin day. The fact I don;t get paid to do it, and do it b/c it makes me happy, makes it THAT more satisfying to me, while nuts to others ... maybe someday I'll be able to have a career change. :whatever:

I am so sorry. I am not married with children so I can't imagine how difficult this is for you :rose:

Exactly I love it. And then when I see that they are really getting what I'm saying and incorperate that into their workouts and lives it's a wonderful high and I will not stop doing it. He's just gonna have to deal or he won't I can't be burdened with his insecurities like that. Just like this guy asked me why I keep resistance on the ab bench. SO I showed him how to get a more effective ab workout on it while going in deeper in the ab muscles. He is now doing it and blowing out all the air on contraction and tells me how much that has intensifies his ab workout and thanked me. I was on cloud nine.
 
He's going to go thru ANGER, SADNESS, ANXIETY, ANGER AGAIN......and over and over and over. And if he's anything like mine, he'll tell you the same thing 10 times in a 20 minute conversation to try to expain how HE feels, and ignore anything you say (well, the parts about how YOU FEEL anyway). This is his way of trying to "wear you down" - trying to make you believe him, feel sorry for him, understand him....blah blah blah. What about you?

ONLY ONE THING MATTERS!.....IT (whatever IT may be) has happened and nothing can change that. If it's been an issue in the past, has it been solved? If it's a new issue, do you think it can be fixed? Just a couple of things to think about.

I have a feeling when I laid all my shit on the table in my log, you may have taken a closer look at your relationship and there were similarities (I could be wrong here). Whatever you decide, don't let your kids grow up in a home that isn't happy! They sense it and it WILL have effects on them. I WAS one of those children.

He is a child from a bad home. His dad use to cheat on his mom,beat her,and do to her what he's doing to me. She finally had enough and left him and never went back. I left him in 99 and was gone for a little over 2 yrs,we started talking again and dating some and got back together and it was good for a while and now he's back to his old self. The only thing he's not doing is going out drinking all the time. The only difference is that I'm not the same women I was years ago. I'm older,wiser (well some of the time),stronger and I know myself better. He knows that and is scared to death b/c he knows if I have to I can and will make it no matter what I have to do to take care of my kids. Hmmmm do you think if I took a 25 lbs db and wacked him upside the head it would knock some sense into him. I have found what I am meant to do and feel good about it and I'm damn good at it too and he's hating it. He hates change and I've been going through alot of it. But yeah I think we have alot in common as to what's going on here.

As for the past we have issue's hell we have been together since I was 17 yrs old on and off only broke up once for that time I mentioned above. We both made mistakes in the past but we were kids he does dwell on them but only mine and not his. Hmmmm must be a pattern. I know I'm not perfect but I work hard to make a good home for my kids. I just want some peace in my life and in theirs. I don't want to be one of those moms that have to look in their eyes and see instability where security use to be. I don't know what's going to happen but I know they are my first priority.
 
You know what's best for you. You can feel it in your gut and you're telling yourself every day what you need to do. Follow your instincts. (((((((BIG HUG))))))))

Woke up in a better overall mood this morning. I'm still standing my ground but yesterday I did alot of thinking and I'm putting me on the front burner for once (well except for my kids of course), I am a priority now and not holding back anything at all now. It feels good to speak my mind again and not give a shit. LOL His feelings are his and he's gotta own them and deal with them I can't and won't. And I will continue to help others no matter what happens!

On that note I woke up this mornng to freaken snow! UGh the Appalachian mountains!

M1- stomach is has still not caught up with my head so it's still tied up in knots. Trying to eat something small. I think maybe a protein shake and banana or something like that. I have a big ass bottle I bought from walmart for less than 2 bucks it's a 1/2 gallon sports bottle. So I've got first 1/2 gallon almost gone and have taken my vitamins and supps. I'm getting back slowly. LOL

You know I saw the same thing happening in my marriage after 2 years and at that point I had already saw my parents and knew 100% fact I was never going to be like them. So I told him I wanted a divorce and he knew nothing was going to change my mind (I'm pretty hard-headed at times), I do what I feel. Sometimes going with what you feel is not always good, thinking with the mind and feeling together will keep you stable. Feelings go up and down, are wishy-washy, and can lead you into lonely dark places. Trying to think with the mind with what your gut is telling you is the best way to go. Once your gut says something is wrong, or you need to do this, then don't second guess it start forming a plan in the head to follow through with what the gut is telling you. I see people say they had this feeling but they ignored it for so long that they just become numb to life. Don't let your life ride you, you have to ride your life! Once you start listening to your intuition it becomes second nature to not second guess it and go with it. I have developed this and fine tuned it even more since I started doing massage. While massaging the body gives off energy in different ways. Some areas on a client's body just pull you in and guide you. It's being in touch not only with yourself but being able to see where other people need you most. If you block that sense out then you won't know your head from your feet, nor ever be able to help anyone else out because you are to mixed up yourself. Start with yourself, and then fine tune in onto what other people's body and energy are saying to you. Believe me it's a lot stronger then words could ever be!!
Meditation and alone time are the best ways to balance yourself.... I need to do that more then I do!!!

I do believe very deeply in the intuition of women and I do listen to mine that's why I started on this whole path. You know the feeling like you hit something and you have an invisiable string leading you to the next step and it feels so natural and good. That's where I am in the fitness realm and getting in my personal life as well. I do meditate and that's why I believe I'm alot calmer and feel more centered today. You rock my sista! Thanks for the advise. :heart: :rainbow:

Yup you got it. It's easy when you listen to it and quit fighting against it. It walks you like a dog on a leash... you don't even have to think. Glad to see you meditate. What have you found works best for you while meditating? I always found being close to water and being outside is best for recharging me.

I like being outside that is my # 1, # 2 water sounds and just being around water, #3 believe it or not fire, I find it so calming.

I often in the winter months take candles and light them and sit in front of them and just go off into a nice place, do my calming breathing and just be calm and relaxed. My little girl even tries to do it with me. LOL

Very cute... Yep I find fire calming too! Anything natural is calming.

That's one of the reason's I can't wait for warmer weather. I live very close to the woods and we have a swing in the back yard, I like to go out early in the morning and listen to the birds and other animals starting their day and then again the evenings after dark you hear all the sounds of nature around you, it helps me sleep. LOL

recumbant bike 30 minutes
*warm up 5 minutes level 4 speeds 7.6 to 7.8 rpm
*up to level 6 for 10 minutes at speeds 8.4 to 9.3 rpm
*up to level 8 for 10 minutes at speeds 9.8 to 100.3 rpm
*cool down lowing speed slowly to 7.6 then to 54.5 and going down one level each minutes until down to level one.

Did a really good stretch!!! Felt good!

Finally got to the gym last night thank God. I thought I was going to start going through withdrawl,LOL.

M1-8 am - chicken omlette - 5 egg whites, 1 egg, 1 serving of low fat shredded cheddar cheese, 4 oz leftover chicken, 5 sliced mushrooms,1/2 C. sliced strawberries, 1/2 gallon water, vitamins, supps. :p

I was out freezing my butt off last night. My son 13 yr old had a training meet or practice meet with the highschool for track. It was so freaken cold my hips starting hurting and when we were leaving I got up and stepped down and felt this pain go up my quads like someone was taking a knife and running it up my legs. OUCH! Then this morning they are achey! What I don't do for my kids :rolleyes: I'm loading my car with blankets for next weeks practice meet. This is the part of track season I hate the cold of the beginning of it. UGH!

So I didn't get to go to the gym last night!!!

Legs are still hurting but only in my quads! Don't get that. :worried:

I'm thinking about going in and a taking a hot bath and see if that helps them!

M1- 1/2 C oatmeal, 5 egg whites, 1 egg scrambled, 1 tbs salsa, 1/2 gallon water, 1 C coffee,+ vitamins + supps.

Well did you work quads??? Or did you do a full leg work-out? Did you work quads first before hams if you do full legs?I always hurt worse 48 hours after I Work them. Which means sunday I'm going to be dying.... I do legs with the trainer tonight!

No I will be working them tomorrow night. I don't know why they are hurting. I was stuck outside on metal bleachers while my son ran last night freezing my ass off and they started hurting then,then when I got up to leave I stepped down and felt this sharp pain up my quads in both legs. It felt like someone took a knife and ran it up my leg. Sharp pain and then nothing. Then I get up this morning and they are hurting. :worried:

M1- breakfast pizza - ww low carb pita bread warmed,5 egg whites, 1 egg scrambled, 1 oz low fat shredded cheddar cheese, nuke it for 20 seconds to melt cheese some. Cut in 4th's and :chomp: up!!! 1/2 C sliced strawberries, 1 mug coffee, 1/2 gallon water + vit. + supps.

Getting ready to leave for tanning and the gym!!! Later gators! :)

Maybe because you were cold you were squeezing your quads together and your butt... So they were contracted for however long you were sitting there and when you got up to stand you stretched them out.... I mean they already are shortened when you sit, and then if you are contracting them even more, When you go to stand up your stretching them out and that may have been to fast of a motion once they were in that prolonged state of being shortened and tight.

Could be. I was thinking maybe it was b/c it was soooo cold out and then when I stepped down it stretched a cold muscle. Kind of like stretching and frozen rubberband. But I feel great now soo I don't know.

Sunday, 3/19


Meal plans for today as it's Sunday and hard for me to get on here and update like I want to.

M1 - 1/2 C oatmeal, 2 turkey sausage links, 1 mug coffee, water + vit. + supps.

M2 - 1/2 C cottage cheese, 1/2 C baby carrots, water

M3 - 5 oz grilled tuna fillet, salad w/ light balsamic vin. on the side,water

M4 - Gonna make the family chicken n dumplings and all the fixins butttt for me....... I'll take 4 oz or 1 C of the chicken and make a dish for me with rice of seasoned potatoes and some kind of green veggies and green tea.

M5 - the usual yogurt,pp, 1 Tbs anpb,water

No gym today, it's rest day. Gonna clean out the car and clean the house.

I may be late logging tomorrow I have a job interview in the morning. I'll let ya'll know how it goes. LUVS YA!!! :heart:

The interview went well. Not sure if I'm going to go to work there or not,I'm negotiating some stuff so we shall see.

Biceps

Preacher curls - 40/12, 50/10,9
Hammer curls - 20/10,10,10 (Struggled with my left arm ugh I wish it would catch up already!!!) :rolleyes:
Standing BB curls - 60/8,8,8

Triceps

Flat bench BB extension - 50/10,10,8 ( could have done 10 on last set but I had to pee really bad)
Rope pushdown - 100/8,8,6
Behind the neck DB extension - 15/10, 20/10,10


Abs

On ab bench 90* slant - crunches 3 sets of 10
twists 3 sets of 15
I alternated crunch to twists with no rest and then one short rest after 2 sets until complete.


Cardio

Stretch,it felt so good my hamstrings are still so tight from Saturdays leg workout.

Well at least there were ellypticals there... I had a dream last night I was going to the gym and only 2 treadmils were in the room and one ellyptical and someone was on all of them. The room was completely bare. Wierd... Then there was a hurricane in Michigan!!!! Yeah in my dream if a tornado goes across water then it becomes hurricane. I have no idea what the heck my head is up too. Glad to see you had a good work-out though!

I don't feel like I got a good one, I could do so much more but my left arm always tires out on me. I work it to the max until I can't push it any further. It's getting rather irritating. I just want to catch up with my right side so I can move on already!!!!

LOL Maybe it's the seasonal changes in the air. My hubby said I started laughing in my sleep last night and then got up to pee. I don't remember any of it.

Ugh this week is gonna be so messed up for the gym. I have to take my son to another practice meet tonight and Thursday and their first meet is Friday. I may have to double up to get all my work in.

Not sure about the practice tonight though we are in for a good storm coming through. Snow and ice. UGH! It's Spring already the winter dude needs to just move on man move on to a peaceful place until it's his turn again!!!!

M1(9am) - Protein smoothie - 1 1/2 scoop vanilla whey pp,6 oz ice cold water, 1 small frozen banana, 4 frozen strawberries, 1/4 C frozen blackberries,3 ice cubes blended to perfection. LOL YUMMY!!!!!!! :p ,1 mug coffee, started on my first 1/2 gallon of water. + vitamins + supps

If I was in that situation, I would have the shake immediately PWO, wait at least an hour then have some fat before bed.





Ok when I get home from the gym the first thing I do is have a my yogurt with pp now the only problem I have with trying to get in my fat source before bed is that I'm not up long after I get home b/c it's rather late when we do get home. Maybe I could just eat some nuts or something before bed and wait as long as I can after my pwo meal. UGH! See now if I could get my workout in a little sooner in the day this would not be an issue for me. :rolleyes:

It's all about finding what works for you & adjusting things when you feel something may or may not be holding you back & tweak.

I am 110% dedicated when I wanna be, and when I see something off, I fix it & move on. I was just making a suggestion for better nutrient uptake, it may not work for you or her or the next person given your schedule :) If you need to get the fats in, then get em in ... there are better ways than in a PWO shake

Why yogurt??? Could always add flaxseed oil in the shake.... or take a serving of almonds. Eat the yogurt at a different time.

I am just gonna try moving it to another meal and see how that does for me. I don't want to hinder my traing or results in any way so I'm gonna do what is best ya know what I mean. And a big ass plus for the nutrition stand point!!!!
 
i have the same problem. I do my weights in the eve. and can't get fat in before bed because i drink a shake and go to bed.

I do my weights in the evening too and drink my PWO shake right afterward. I then wait at least 90 mins to 2 hrs and eat my fat (either nuts or nut butter) right before I go to bed. Sometimes it sits on my night stand to pop in right before I turn off the lights....

What's weird is the trainer who gives me my diet looked at this and said that I shouldn't eat just nuts right before I go to bed because it's really hard for the body to digest. But I thought fat makes the protein digest slower and keeps one satiated through the night??? Anyway, as a compromise, the trainer said I could eat nut butter with celery sticks at least...although I'm not sure how that would help.

The 2 tbsp of almond butter I eat before bedtime has 6g carbs, 8g protein, 15g fat and I think those are pretty decent ratios. I don't eat dairy, so no casein type protein for me. Anyone care to comment??? (sorry to hijack your log, MGF)

Yogurt b/c gyn says so. I need the live critters that are in it. Soooo I get it in last meal seems to be the only time Don't know why just ends up like that.

I take flaxseed oil in capsules. That is usually how I do it but if eating the almonds with my pwo meal is going to hinder me I would rather move it ykwim.

That was my thinking as well. I think what they are saying is to have the pp pwo and then the fat is fine before bed. Wonder why the trainer said that???? Don't sweat it hun it's all good. :)
 
OK here's the solution I've come with to my little delima.....

Take my foods with me to the gym and eat my pwo on the way home that will give me enough time to give time before eating the fat before bed. Home,shower,put the kids to bed play with dog and hubby :qt: LOL should be over an hour.

I'll play around with it to make it fit.
 
Why do you need any fat at all before bed? Is this just because you're not getting it in at other points in the day?

When you sleep your not eating and as you know you need to eat every 2 to 3 hrs and have protein with meals right. Well if your asleep and not eating your body will start basically eating your lean muscle and eating a fat before bed slows down digestion and avoid the above. :)

It's really based on your goals & what works FOR YOU ... you will read D'ont eat fat before bed ... don't eat carbs before bed ... don't eat within 2 hours of bedtime , etc ...

It's all subjective & matters WHO you talk too ... a slow digesting protein source before bed is also a good option, not FAT & only fat per se ...
