Meditation

One of the colleges I went to was Naropa Institute... at the time the only Buddhist college in the US. They practice "sitting" which isn't much more than sitting with your eyes closed and focusing on your breath.

I don't meditate now... but somehow life is always richer when I do... so thanks for the reminder to try it again/

I meditate nightly. It's mostly goal-oriented, though I do practice different breathing and focusing techniques. Seriously, check out the Idiot's Guide to Meditation -- it's really good!

I meditate when I'm really stressed and having trouble relaxing so I can go to sleep. I have only the basics down but it is good stuff

Thanks everyone for the responses..

Good sites too..

I think we all need to slow down from time to time and
think about what lifes really about..

Bigsatan13...I get an overall sense of wellness and internal peace when I meditate. Plus you reach a mental plane that is not readily available when you are simply awake.

My mind gets into a state where I am simply observing everything in my life even myself. Sort of like stepping back away from being in the movie to watching it while your still in it.

I find my thought processes clearer, faster, more effortless,
and I notice a lot more "syncronicity" in my life.
Syncronicity is when two unrelated things happen at the same time to good effect.
Like driving down the street, and a car pulls out of exactly the perfect parking spot just when you get there,
or you're thinking of calling someone, and the phone rings and they're calling you...
or you're searching for an answer to a problem and you look up at a billboard and they're advertising a new product that does exactly what you need
And I find I make a lot more changes in my life when I meditate. In fact, if I meditate regularly, life starts changing so much that I freak out and stop meditating.

I've been meaning to join a yoga center for quite some time now. I spend a lot of time in the gym but hardly ever stretch...which is a bad thing, yoga should take care of that.
