a while ago i thought i'd lose my job. cutbacks.
i'm no longer worried.
3 weeks ago, i was in charge of putting together a presentation for our annual industry conference. I worked late every night, getting it perfect. Between that, and all the promotions I did- our presentation was the highest attended presentation ever. We got leads from MAJOR major corporations, including most of the largest pharmaceutical companies, and petroleum companies.
Last week I had to put together another presentation for the president of Panasonic Corporation. I was given 1 day, and stayed at work till 10pm to get it done, got home by 11pm, and had to be at work at 9am the next day, in a suit, ready to go with the exec. team to present it.
Afterwards, in the parking lot, my boss had tears in his eyes and said he's never been so proud of his team before and that we were all amazing. (he hugged me, which he's now getting into the habit of doing)
I thought I could relax a bit, but yesterday he called an emergency meeting and said i'm not in charge of a new project, due by wed. at noon, which involves of course another presentation (this time it's for the president of tigerdirect),
plus huge changes to our websites.
so
a. i'm now a powerpoint expert, but i seriously make kickass presentations.
b. I got a raise.
c. my boss is ready to lick between my toes if i ask him to.
of course, i'm totally exhausted and stressed and can't stop thinking of everything as little mini powerpoint animations.
i'm no longer worried.
