Had a strange night. We usually do ME Upper on Thursdays, but because of outside circumstances, we were forced to workout on Friday.

Little did we know that the gym closes at 8:00 on Fridays instead of the usual 10:00.

We got there at 7:55. Luckily though, he stayed open long enough for us to do the ME exercises.

We were planning on doing 1RM Floor Presses with mini bands double choked down and 3RM Incline 3 Board Presses with mini and light bands. However, because we were trying to hurry, we just did regular 1RM Floor Presses and regular 3RM Incline Presses.

Floor Press: 1RMx205
205, 225 (miss)

Because of time, I didn't rest very long between sets. I might would have gotten that 225 with a longer rest period.

Incline Press: 3RMx155
155x3

I got 185 one and a half times.

That was it. Total workout time: 20 minutes for both of us.

Good job getting in a workout with such a short time period. Those floor presses are tough.

Making PR's I hope?

First of all...good job on the PR!!!!!

Don't forget...when you press...press in a STRAIGHT line. Shortest distance between point A and point B is a straight line...you were pushing back towards your face on the floor presses.

Thanks for tip.

I noticed that after I watched the video. It felt straight up and down at the time though.

It usually does. Think this when you are doing them...or have someone yell it at you...

"Press away, extend away, press away, extend away..."

It works for me and Cheese sometimes. THIS is where JM Presses help out a lot...they teach you to extend.

It also helps me to have someone yell at me duing a squat to 'SIT BACK!!!'...strange huh?

Good work!!

I like the guitar while you were performing floor presses! Looks like that is a custom rack built for floor pressing. . . or is it a power rack?

I think floor presses are hard as hell. . I stuggle with them big time.

Pressing in a straight line makes a difference. I find I'm STILL stronger in a bodybuilding ROM than using powerlifting technique, but the activation of so many more muscles from the PL technique is remarkable.

I agree straight line is the best. . if the J motion occurs, I think a weakness becomes noticeable. This happens to me sometimes.

Several things could be the problem then.
1) Bar position where you start from.
2) Belly full of air.
3) Shoulder blades in the right position.
4) Tight and full arch.

I'm sure that they are many others...

Shoulder blades should be pulled together, right?

I think I might not start the bar low enough. I need to take some video side-on next time.

Thanks. I'll get puttinbuttin to start yelling that at me during my bench sets.

No, it's just your typical power rack. Actually, it's not a very good one.

Those type of pins only come in handy for floor presses.

The music is by fasedown. Check them out if you get a chance.
