ME Lower body + events

well i felt pretty beat up from beating people up yesterday playing football........ uhhh i mean basketball, ( i always get those confused) that with going to bed to late and poor nutrition.

Med stance rounded back gm (with horrible form btw) 315 x 1. pr

Zercher squat (really hard for some reason today) - 315 x 3 pr

Rack deads from below knee - 225 x 6 x 8 .

then hobbled to the car and went home...........

made a "cardio video"....lol

Events:

1 clean and press for reps - 205 x 5.

power clean for max reps - 135 x 10.

400lb tire x 10 flips.
(neighbor came over to ask what in the heck i was doing)

then i did the daddy of all events..............wow

135lb clean and press into overhead walk for 320 feet. no i didnt type that wrong. 320 feet. i went 160 feet and turned around and walked back. the the first part of the last lap was up hill halfway too.

i didnt go for speed (my shoulder is feeling a little weird) so i just did it under control and went for distance.

however......... the last 10 feet i did run very very fast and dropped the bar, and fell over on top of it.

oh well, now im having to work for 5 hours till 11pm........... im tired, and sore.

but why do you do any overhead on this day at all? wouldn't it be better to have your overheads on their own day so you can do asistance and whatnot

where do you work btw

Damn, that's a long way. Bet you're gonna be sore!
 
dam, i couldnt imagine walking the length of a lax field holding 135 over my head, especially after a grueling workout, nic job bro !!!

hey mike, what are you talking about "going to be sore???" im already sore.

i train all events and some olympic lifts on my events day. at a strongman contest you always start off with some time of overhead movement, so im just condititioning my body, i have always done it this way. i do ohp in the gym too. but i dont like doing the log press every week. so i switch each week between the log and the reg bar. if i had a viking i would do it instead.

Why were you up late the night before?

Why not enough food?

I used to do overheads on Sundays...till I realized that just doing the overhead movt isn't going to be good enough. I do my overheads on a different day...so I can fully train it.

a few anwsers for you b:

1) i was up to late because im seem to stay up late, for no apparent reason. i went to bed at 2:15 am and i slept till 10am. so i got 8 hours of sleep, but it throws my whole day off when i dont wake up early.

2) to be honest, im extremley lazy, and its eaiser to grab something instant and crap, then make a quality meal, no excuses, im just not cutting it on that end.

and about your overheads...............im not sure i get what your saying. do you think i should move the ohp's to after my me days.
in essence, doing 2 days of events. lower body stuff on me lower days, and then overheads after me days.

the reason why i do them on me lower is becuase thats when i train all of my events. also what i told t3c, and because i do the clean too. not just the press. i dont have a rack at home so to get the weight up, i have to clean it, which is a lot harder than the press.

i dont go for maxes on event days. i pick a weight and go for reps with it, i leave my maxes till me upper day.
