Married or once married dudes....(or ladies)

What did you spend on an engagement ring? How big and what type?
This shit is confusing to me......It seems like anything these days unrelated to food, wine or cooking can never get my full learning potential....

I need a little help with engagement ring shopping..please.

Whatever you feel is appropriate for yourself and her. I dont like the "rules" on rings.

She will know if you are being cheap or selfish.
You will know too.

Whatever you can afford. If it is not good enough for her, you are marrying the wrong person.

I never understood the point of putting yourself out by thousands of dollars for a piece of metal with stones in it, when you could plough that cash in to the mortgage of your (future) home.

You know you are going to get a lot of DON'T DO IT from the marriage hating guys here. lol

My ring was $5800 and it is a 1K with a nice platinum band from Baily Banks & Biddle. He could have gotten a less quality 2K for the same price, but he wanted something real quality stuff. He did a good job picking it out. :) BBB has good stuff.

If your woman loves you then she will love it no matter what you pick. I really wanted a 3 stone ring, but I got this. I still love it anyway! It is not what I would have picked, but still beautiful to me.

you only do it if you want to. There are many guys and gals out there who would rather put that into a mortage.

my guy already had a home and suprised me with a great ring, good quality. He did not spend the traditional 3 months salary but did spend about 5 k on it. I dont like the 3 month wage deal. Thats alot of money to spend on a ring.

Damn...that's a killer price tag for a ring. But as long as you like it.
The last time I bought her jewelry...it was online and it looked so fuggin big until I got home and she was wearing it. I wish they would model the rings online so you can get a idea of the size.

Hubby got me a nice ring, but ee were smart and got married in Vegas and let the parents help us with a house instead of a big wedding. :)
